Really weird about the Dwarf female ear ring textures. I wonder where they are?

Maybe they are in the tauren face or extra texture.

Nah.... just messing with you:P

Changing it from 1024 x 512 to 512 x 512 doesn't lower the quality of the textures.

Oh and of course lowering the resolution of a picture changes it's quality. You are reducing the number of pixels in the face texture to 18.75 %, also you are changing the color mode to 256 colors max. Anything between those 256 color/ nuances get's converted to the closest color.
The rest of the body however will not have changed quality, if you don't mess with the resolution, and will not suffer (much) color degradation due to converting it  to 256 - because the body has a smaller variation of color, so more free space for nuances.

Damn, i'm still not able to load the eyebrows geoset, even with new files. How many working geosets did you keep with the girl nightelf?

Oh, btw, if you want the 6.0.3 character files i can upload them. Already tried once but the damn site didn't give me a link after 1h upload. Only willing to try again if you want it.

Hello there,

Let me have an educated guess (probably because I've been asking myself this too) and say you probably don't have the Draenei models in there?

I'm trying those myself as we speak but I have no clue how to produce a proper SKIN file as I have no clue where to put the tail when I position everything in Photoshop.

Maybe you do?

Kind regards,
DJScias

If you guys are that picky about it I can do a new extraction and upload it even though I haven't seen any changes done to the models since my last extraction.

I haven't either but i told myself as long as i'm downloading the whole game for the backed npc textures i might just grab the last version available and upload the characters, just in case. It seems that wow developers are very sloppy with their files though. Also thought that my night-elf  eyebrows would be fixed in the newer models...guess i was wrong.

I would certainly love to see a fix for this. Even more so if you are going to show us how to un-group meshes or get them to load from another texture file if it's possible:)

Would it be simpler to convert these into WotLK rather than starting from scratch on my own?

Barely got the time and the SSD space readily available without some serious file moving so I am trying to minimise the effort if possible.

If your extraction is from 6.0.2 it's fine. Literally nothing has been changed.... well nothing any of you would notice on a client older than WoD. 6.0.2 brought extra customization on the models which isn't available on older clients and also some smaller fixes as the night elfs glitchy running animation.

World of Warcraft - Warlords of Draenor 6.0.3 (19116) and the exe confirms it, though it;s a custom one.

Hmm, welp the bakedtexture filenames have definitely changed for most NPCs. However, some of them remain the same.

For the ones that remain the same, though, i'm getting some weird issues when I give them the WoD baked textures:

Anyone know why that's happening? Do I need to make a version of the WoD model specially for NPCs or something?

EDIT: Aaah, I was neglecting that NPC textures are 512 x 256, where as player textures are 512x512. Damn.

The problem is that wotlk uses a different file name system then WoD even tho some of the last few bakednpctextures added to wotlk were using the new names instead of numbers and letters.

I already converted the 21k+ WoD BakedNpcTextures to WotLK format to go with the player models since that is what they use I mean you could just convert the WoD player model to be compatible with wotlk without re-uvmapping but then you have to edit a bunch of display id's in dbc and I rather not.... but you would still need to edit all the names and find what bakedtextures belongs to what 15k+ wotlk bakedtextures...

WoD to WotLK format.

WotLK name format.

I haven't had time to fix the hair it's only with the human models.

So anyway when and if you find out from the WoD DBC files where the names are located so I can transfer them to wotlk dbc that would be great since the CreatureDisplayInfoExtra.dbc from WoD doesn't contain the file names for the bakedtextures just numbers and I don't have the time to look where those numbers point to or are pulled from.
