[!RETIRED! RELEASE CL] CL Mod Merge
« on: March 26, 2017, 05:29:37 am »
PROJECT RETIRED - This project is no longer needed, my WoD Character Models mod now has compatibility options for all these merged mods.

-------------
Description;
-------------
This is a merge of several mods for WoW client 1.12.1 (Classic). The intention is to allow people to use these mods without DBC conflicts. Included mods are:
-MODIFIED VERSION OF* Uthil's Imroved Models for 1.12 (http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=10847.0)
-MODIFIED VERSION OF** Balsh's WOD character models for 1.12 (http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=10799.0)
-Leeviathan's TBC Blood/High Elf NPCs (http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=11233.0)
-Leeviathan's Cohesive Druid Forms (http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=9822.0)
-Leeviathan's WoW Rescore (http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=10345)

*This is a very pared down version of Uthil's mod. I removed or modified some objects and many creatures that I felt were either too fancy, too different from vanilla, or just had some minor bug (e.g. off scale, holding inappropriate weapon, lack of attack animation, etc.)
**I have pretty much completely reworked every character model in order to fix hair textures, tabards, channeling animations, and issues with transparency (i.e. ghost form). Undead models now have their bones, but I have an optional patch if you liked my boneless version. The weapon sheathing emote still doesn't work for some models.

I haven't downloaded it yet, but I was just about to suggest.. maybe it would be a good idea to make a new thread for mod merging and sticky it and then maybe it would be a good idea that each published patch has *only one* version available - the main one (assuming only necessary requirements to run as intended) and everything else that is a fix or a merge is released as a separate link in this thread, as a mini patch that contains the correct dbc's, and few other files with the "fixes". I fear there are too many versions sometimes, and I am not a big fan of this sort of thing:
Quote
How to install mykewlpatch.mpq:
if you have patch X, click here,
if you have patch Y or Z, click here
if you have patches X and Z, but not Y, click here,
if you play on server S, and have patch W, click here,
etc..
It makes more sense to me to install "Elyisium_druid_fix.mpq" on top of "patch-X.mpq", resulting in two files, than to have a separate version of patch-X for every circumstance.

That's how I have it except that the base patch is split into two for easy uploading (patch-3/patch-4 function as a single patch, patch-3 is where all the big files are so if I ever want to tweak some dbc file I only have to re-upload patch-4...EDIT: I've ditched this approach for clarity, the base patch is now going to just be patch-3.MPQ). patch-5 is for all the special instances.

Thanks! Saves me some time since I grabbed all this stuff anyway! Thank you so much for including the boneless undead mpq. I ended up finding the files and editing the mpqs myself in the past. The only thing I would try to include would maybe be Darker Nights?

I noticed a bug, quite a few faces seem to be bugged, while not all character models are affected, I noticed an Orc Male without a face, and a Night Elf Female without a face. I hope you can point me in the right direction to fix it! Thanks!

I can't find any problems with player character textures, but it's possible some NPCs could have issues. Are these messed up textures on NPCs or player characters? If they're on NPCs it would help to know what specific NPCs are having the problem. Also if you notice a bug, try removing any other mods you might have to see if the issue is due to a mod conflict; this merge is very likely to conflict with other mods because of all the DBC file edits.

Henen works with just my mod merge for me, can you confirm you are running the game with my merge only?

Totally noob here, but I have a question... How would I go about adding different orc skins to this mod?
I Love the orc skins from this mod:
https://www.nexusmods.com/worldofwarcraft/mods/822/?

Alas, I have no idea of how to go about adding this to my wow =S

You'd need to convert all the textures to be compatible with Vanilla then add them to a new MPQ patch. Short answer is it's not easy.

Thanks! =) BTW, i've found an issue with your mod. Dunno if it's been reported, but The Create a Character screen for the Tauren seems bugged/corrupted... There are corrupted textures across all of the background of this race.
I'm not using anymod except the chinese undead models that comes with your mod
