Tbh, its probably the best terrain modelling and texturing performance I have ever seen in "first project ever". Huge thumb up. You are on a very good way.

About styles, I preffer to "find out" my own styles by experimenting. From time to time I just try something new, if it works out I start using it. A lot of my maps are in completely different styles and sometimes I use combinations of them.

About TheBug's guide, his style is very, very similiar to my currently used style (well, I preffer to model and after that texture rocks, but thats up to you, and my rocks are sharp instead of round - I use smaller radius for Raise tools, about 4,5), however, I combine this style with cliffs inspired by Howling Fjord/Dragonblight. Mine are far less detailed than Blizzard's, because I am in need of using "quick" styles to be able to create big maps in a short amount of time. You can watch me doing my older style here:
https://youtu.be/LQbdyl1_3bY?t=1m0s

And a few screenshots with my currently used style:

I am creating those cliffs with Flat Flatten tool, radius around 5-6, and sometimes I raise the whole mountain with linear Raise tool with huge radius set, to make whole landscape more hilly. Well, thats just something for inspiration. You will figure out on your own what and how to do, I am pretty sure about that. Welcome to WoW modding, keep up a good work.

Thanks a bunch for the feedback.
I really dig the "cliff-y" mountains, and I especially like your speedy "world editing video", which gives alot of inspiration to a new modder, because you see something that actually comes to life in one video.

Right now, I am really working on being able to "close off" a zone with mountains, and make it look realistic, smooth and just generally good. After that I will be practicing some more creative mountain-styles.

I might need a few tips at some point, so if you wouldn't mind adding me on skype (Lasse.carlseng1), i'd really appreciate it.

And please post more of your work, it's super interesting and motivational :D

I'm programming a library for reading adt files, and later also for saving, in case you want to modify them ;). At this moment it's only for 3.3.5, but hopefully it will cover all your needs when you want to create some awesome adt related tools in .Net.
When i'm finished i'll probably create another libary to handle wdt files. After that maybe mpq and dbc files, but i'm not sure yet.
Of course the libraries will be open source so you can learn and modify them. :)

EDIT: Huge thanks to Cromon for answering all my question! :)

Nice, I used to use CryectTools (The Fileinfo/Loadinfo), but for some reason I stopped using them :p. Would be nice to have an updated/newer tool with similar (or more) features).

Sounds awesome, then I can throw away mine, which was rushed anyway. :D
Looking forward to it.

Thats just great Kaev, maybe someone will at last create, finish and release more useful DBC editor than MyDBC is. I heard that someone is already working on that - thats also great news.

Would you mind to share your sourcecode? I actually just found some things that are not working as intended and i think i did something wrong somewhere. Maybe your code could help me to fixit faster. :P

I never thought it will ever go so far but it did... After 3 years of client side modding I have started to learn with Maya and am going to try to get something custom to WoW :D. Wish me luck with that. Overview of my first, for now non-textured creation:

Any ideas, suggestions and so on? And please, don't try to turn me to Blender. I simply don't want to use that app since its not often being used by proffesional game developing studios and I have decided to aim for pro level designer career.

Tbh, It's not really the matter of which tool is better out of Maya and Blender. It's more about which tool you get more comfortable to work with. I myself found Blender to be the tool for me to work with more effectively. There's alot of games that have been done profesionaly with Blender, so I do't know what you're onto about.

Either way, nice sword you got there. Keep it up.

Blender has higher perspective. It is going to be a professional tool in a few years. Autodesk software is massive outdated, overloaded and buggy piece of shit. Blender is 100 mb and it got almost the same functionality. Everything it lacks can be fullfilled with plugins.

We were talking about this with Amaroth little bit and from my prespective Blender is really universal BUT i think its best in way for making renders thats where is Blender exceling when i have a look at other 3Ds

But im still going to use it as much as i possible - everywhere

I'm trying to find how to combine mount positions (legs from the bike and arms from "usual" mounts)

I believe there's an actual  version of that I did a while back that had handles for the bike mount pose I made it  into a mount as well  but I can't remember the model I think it was from wod from ashrand alliance side where the gnomes hang out in the garage.

Update! There's (maybe, i'm not even sure yet) something wrong with the MH2O chunk, but besides that everything was correct when i compared the data with the 010 editor. I'll probably release it this week, maybe even today if MH2O works correctly or if i can fix it fast.
There will be a demo tool which will show you every loaded data from the adt and could probably seen as a newer and more complete Fileinfo/Loadinfo tool.

Ah, and i had to write a second library to read .wdt files, because i need the flag in it to know which alphamap i have to load.
When you load a adt without a wdt, it will load everything except the alphamap (MCAL chunk).

After releasing this i'll start to code the saving part of the library.

The RidgedMulti would be a plugin you can add as you like and for this simple example just:
