[SHOWOFF] What Are You Working On
« on: March 05, 2014, 11:53:57 am »

WAYWO

Some of you probably know this thread idea from other forums. If not, here you go:
[paragraph:1vqrmpse]The idea is basically to post screens/info/code samples/whatever about the thing you currently work on.
It does not matter if its finished or not, if its code or your most recent custom map. just post about it, have a chat or help each other out.[/paragraph:1vqrmpse]

Why should we do this?

[paragraph:1vqrmpse]Most people here complain that the shoutbox is gone, which i totally understand since it was always a central place for the community to talk about their current activities.
What i do not understand is why it one should not be able to talk about such stuff in a thread, especially when it seems to work pretty well in other forums (for ex. on Facepunch, to name only one). So lets get this going :)[/paragraph:1vqrmpse]

Gifs

[paragraph:1vqrmpse]only use them for tiny things!
if its big: create a video, upload it to dropbox/youtube/vimeo/whatever and put the link into tags[/paragraph:1vqrmpse]

tl;dr

Post stuff u are working on, now!

I'm currently adding lights to lanterns ;) I want them to radiate light on my custom maps ;) I will show some worldbuilding with them later.

I've also started building this zone:

Great! Looks just awesome. Do you use any special shading? First picture looks really different from WoW.

Sorry, re-posted as thumbnails that are clickable.

Skarn, well I'm trying to make it look exactly like the client when it's using WoW assets, so if it's not then I'm doing something wrong =)   I plan on posting some side-by-side comparisons soon if i can get quite close.

What part are you referring to?

One thing I don't have at all is full screen glow (yet) which is a big part of the look of wow.

It looks better than the original one though. I guess you render texture mipmaps a bit another way than wow does. However, it can be a mistake. I've never been to Pandaria on the live server.

it seems like the [wimg] tags work best. they resize while still being able to click
u can use the tags for nearly every kind of video/audio even youtube, vimeo or soundcloud

meanwhile:
i updated https://github.com/hanfer/Blizzard-Updater to have compression on files
plus enhanced the progress bar

also: ffmpeg's gif recording sucks
