It's not something I'm working on, but I had to share this. I've been playing the WoD beta for a bit and ran into this. I simply love Blizzard's sense of humor.

It seems to be a clientside event triggered by the quests. Blizzard is making heavy use of these clientside events in WoD. Often the servers go down/crash (It's alpha/beta after all) and the events simply keep running as players do not get directed back to the log in screen immediatly. Should private servers run WoD, this could potentionally save a lot of (quest) scripting.

You still have to script it client side. And some sort of verification is needed to stop the player cheating and telling the server they have done it instantly.

Has been available since MoP, is SceneScripts. You can do pretty much with it as you may have seen in my recent posts. It is lua and quite horrible to debug, so not really making live easier in development.

Just don't do anything critical in them. If the wall breaks a bit earlier or a bit later is pretty irrelevant. As of MoP, the only exploitable scene script would be siegecrafter blackfuse pipes, and there you save 3 seconds.

Not exactly a mod, anyhow:

NamCore Studio is a tool that lets you modify, edit, convert, view characters and accounts outside the game.

It's a successor of CharImport.

Here is a quick preview: (loading a character from the armory and viewing it - can be modiefied and imported into your server's database)

This project is still early in development.
Aimed to support most emulators.

Github
Pre-compiled binaries

If anyone wants to contribute to this project, contact me! =)

oh thats some nice stuff. awesome work there!

/neckbeard on
except for the fact that its written in VB :D
/neckbeard off

(doesn't matter that its no mod. in here everything is allowed. even if you sew some new panties for your grandma)

as a side note: the UI looks a bit....improvised? in my opinion most of the time sticking with the platform default design and putting in some neat icons/logos looks better than most custom stuff

Well, I've been deep in UI stuff lately.. basically supporting the entire xml/lua infrastructure of WoW (of course there's nothing inherently WoW about the backend).

I'm about 85% done.. but the login screen is at least looking pretty damn good..

And yes that stuff all works =)
