Miscellaneous / Another Taliis problem
« on: July 09, 2014, 12:51:31 pm »
I always feel bad, when I'm coming up with noobish questions, that seem to be so easy solveable.
Well, I downloaded Taliis (a few times) and I can't get it to work. When I open the program, the menu contains File | Help, but nothing more. So, usually when we use Taliis, we would want to click on File and then New, but this suboption isn't there anymore. Also, when I click on "star_for_windows_dummies" application, it would tell me, that it can't access the jarfile "Taliis.jar", so what causes that? Outdatet java version? Nah, I updated it recently. Missing file? Doesn't seem so. Malfunctioning Taliis version? Idk. I have had the problem once, by the way, and I simply solved it by downloading a different version of Taliis, but can not find the version anymore. I need Taliis to delete the mistakenly copied versions of wmos and m2s by noggit, since manually deleting them is exhausting and causes lots of shutdowns.

Using Taliis from the WoWModding Zip pack, and different version from the web. (I noticed, that the download links on the taliis webpage are broken).

I'll take a look. Thanks.

I noticed, that texture swapped areas don't save their texture. So, when I swap the texture, save and reopen the map, the texture wouldn't be changed. I tried adding wmos and m2s to the map first, and then swap the texture. After I saved and reopened the map, the texture was gone, but the wmos and m2s are still there.

The log says:
[Error] Is "C:/Users/Bad/Desktop/Games/World of Warcraft/world/maps/azeroth/azeroth_38_26.adt" really a location I can write to? Saving failed.

I checked the folder, to see if the file exists (it does). It seems like noggit doesn't detect the file properly.

Does this work for already existing zones aswell? Trying to set a new graveyard for alliance in the hinterlands, but it didn't work.

As well i dont know why is even someone using MyWarcraftStudio ... its srsly useless....
Because it was the first MPQ Editor I worked with, so I am feeling quite comfortable with it.

Quote from: "Steff"
Just do the tutorial. It dose a step by step creation of mpqs from a project folder.
I did, but it wouldn't work. Anyways, now that it worked with MWS we can close this thread.

I knew that the path was wrong. Actually, MWS sets the path automatically, as I enter the name of the "world" folder with the "add folder" function, at least in a I different version I used earlier (which I can't find anymore).

So I tried everything manually, added every single adt and set the path and behold, it worked.

Thank you for your help, now I can finally test my map.

Miscellaneous / MPQ File not doing anything to WoW
« on: June 23, 2014, 02:03:11 am »
So, I recently did some really great work on noggit (and I don't exaggerate), but I have got a big problem. I tried puting it into a MPQ file, with two programs. First I tried it with MPQ Editor by Ladik, but no matter what I did, the custom area wouldn't show up ingame. I even looked up the tutorial in the sticky threads, but that wouldn't help at all. So I decided to try it with MyWarcraftStudio instead. Long story short, didn't work aswell. So, I am asking you guys what I did wrong.

Versions used: MyWarcraftStudio 0.10.6337
                          MPQ Editor 1.1

(I put some Screens down here).

Noggit / Re: Nogg-it low fps
« on: December 02, 2013, 09:15:20 pm »
Alright, after several hours of browsing the web I have come to the conclusion, that win 8.1 is a stupid fuck. Several games, including bf3 and far cry, have the same fps problems as nogg-it(although nogg-it isn't a game). It is a global problem, and in the moment there isn't much to do except of waiting for a fix. Well, fuck you windows.

I did, but it still doesn't work. I'm running out of ideas, what else could it be?

Edit: Has that error already occoured?

Noggit / Nogg-it low fps
« on: December 01, 2013, 04:54:28 pm »
Since I installed Win 8.1 and a german World of Warcraft Client (don't know if it has anything to do with it), Nogg-it drops the fps to 5 or 10, so it is nearly impossible to work with it. Everything worked perfectly fine before, so it hasn't anything to do with my graphics, since i already updated the driver, or cpu. Any solutions?

Edit: Before I forget, I have also edited the config file and set the farZ to 500 and lower (I don't know if that works though).

I found out, that everything works just perfectly fine when I don't hit save. After I hit save and delete a m2 noggit crashes.

I'm gonna try that. I just wanted to advise you of this error.

Noggit / Re: Noggit crashes when I delete m2s
« on: November 15, 2013, 02:43:12 pm »
I used this version once: "http://ci.hanfer.org/job/NoggitSDL/" but I have never touched anything. I just started it and then I shut it down, because there was a display problem, but the problem occourd before I used CI. I thought I could fix it by using CI but it made it worse, I guess. I usually use Version 1.3, so the latest Noggit version.

Noggit also immediately shuts down, when I pan the camera to the m2s I want to delete. I think it can't handle the ammount of copies noggit already made of them.
As you can see it copied the mist (and the trees) like 100 times or so. You can usually look through the mist ...

Noggit / Noggit crashes when I delete m2s
« on: November 15, 2013, 10:27:52 am »
I don't know if somebody has already come up with this problem that recently happens to me all the time when I use noggit.

So while I delete m2 models noggit suddenly crashes. I don't know why that error occours all the time, but I found out, that noggit has copied all of them m2s instead of deleting them. And with that a new error occoured, which the log told me is called "Segment violation".

So here is my log:
