There are a lot of tutorials how to make Noggit work, how to mod, how to create... whatever... But I think there are  just a few true level design tutorials - how to make map (and level) actually well-looking. I have started with my series of level design tutorials in czech video version, maybe I will add english subtitles later. First 2 episodes here.:

Another episode coming soon.

Everyone who tried to add new skins for characters, know the huge pain named CharSections.dbc

I made a program (java) who did all the painful work for you.

How to proceed :
-Convert dbc with dbcutil to CSV
-Insert lines into input.txt with pattern : race, gender, texture, extra, hdmod?
exemple : 1,0,HumainDark.blp,,1 (add the new skin HumainDark for human male HD without extra text)
-Launch program
-Rename the new csv to CharSections and convert it to dbc with dbcutil !

It's pretty good actually. Of course you need to add way more details, but this already looks better than everything i tried.. :P
Keep it up!

Looks good so far, especially if its the first thing you have ever made. Thumbs up :). Some things I would polish a little bit:

Terrain: I would recommend you a little bit more blurring (second tool and ctrl+click), because terrain is a little bit too much edgy at some spots.

Texturation: Don't be afraid of little brushes with radius of 1-2 (alt+left click+drag to left/right to adjust brush radius). Try to put more details there.

Model spawn: you did fine job here, I would just add some lower plants. Cactuses? Agaves? Something like this. Having only trees and nothing more looks kinda empty to me. And what about some rocks?

Yes they are, it seems like Blizzard wants to rework the old races they made, so you can find new objects for kobolds or harpies ! As soon as I saw these murlocs huts, I wanted to use them. And I'm not done with these yet !

Fantastic. Did they also used these models to replace old ones in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms ?
The path is the same than the old murloc huts ?
I'm glad they finally update very old mobs.
