I'm starting work on Kul'tiras, this is some early concepting for Boralus, the capital.

While I do like the choice of Venise architecture, it feels like something is missing to make it look nice for me.. It looks to white, too clean, too regular and sculpted for my eyes.  :?
And maybe the buidlings are too small, no ?

Yes, the streets are too wide and regular. In medieval times streets were just rocks tossed in the ground with no real geometry.
Also flat roofs are too modern for a european styled city. Venetians like to put domes and towers over their buildings, don't they ? I recommend you take exemple over Lordaeron ruins.

It's not Venatian architecture, but rather the generic style of 17th century Europe. The amount of white presently makes it look like Vienna, but I'll reskin it once I'm happy with the other specs (such as the size which is indeed too small) Here's the color scheme I'll paint it to:

The end product I am modeling after that one, but getting there is still relatively far away.

This street is a big one though, but that's the main street. The city entrance is behind me. Other streets will actually be much more narrow.

EDIT: Some progress.

I've done some progress on it. Happy with how it's turning out.

Great job, however I think you should scale the buildings up a bit and make the streets narrower just a little bit.

Is that some sort of movable camera that could work as a screenshot camera?

Yep, something like that. It has exactly the same effect as machinimatool for 3.3.5. It would also be very good for use as a spectator mode on arenas.

Yeah, I was just thinking of using it as a screenshot tool. Have it be movable within a specified distance from the character to avoid abuse in PvP situations and then it'd probably work well for that.

trying to figure out how to convert WoD to LK to TBC.  So I attempted to do some models that stan84's tool ( viewtopic.php?f=59&t=7900 ) didn't interpret correctly which in my case is the Primal Gladiator's Greatsword from WoD and Gurthalak from Cataclysm:

This was hand ported, need to get a system down first before I can try to write a script for it. tried doing the Tiriosh Daggers too, but it didn't work :( , disabled/deleted the particle data too but no luck sadly :( .

No emitters yet, not figured how that's set up...WoTLK has 476 bytes in the root emitter...TBC has 504?

I've been fiddling with the idea on and off for about 3 days now, just finally got something that worked instead of either not doing anything at all or crashing the game. Took me a while to figure out what to do with the skin file lol. Hell scratch that, took me a while to realize there wasn't a skin file.

EDIT:

Got the attachment points for the enchants to work now.... just slightly different than wotlk, not too big of a deal thankfully, just an extra 40 bytes per attachment. -

My goal is just to get a specific handful of weapons into tbc, i don't plan to look at other m2's.

^_^, it is very understandable. I do this now because for learning purpose and also because I want to test myself to see if I am educated enough yet to try to do this. I try this maybe 1 year ago and no success, so I try again now. Thankyou for opening up and letting me ask you for tips, though I probably won't be asking much, I don't want to come off as annoying or bothersome, but if I really can't figure out, I will come ask you. :)

I am just breaking file for it to work, I send you example, you will see it is very ugly, I don't use padding 00's, i just cut them together instead lol.  Your file is beautiful, has good clear blank padding spaces with 00's :)
