How do I make this work with finsternis' models for wotlk?

One way: Install both of our mods then create your own mod which just contains a merge of our CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc files and install that on top of everything. The info.txt file included with my mod has a list of all the DBC edits I've made (it's not very many) to make that easier.

Yeah the death animation isn't quite right, the original ent model shows/hides different submeshes depending on the animation being played...or something like that. I decided to ignore all of that since druid forms are cancelled upon death and you don't actually see their animation. I would need to put in quite a bit more work to get the death animation working and have it be a suitable NPC model.

You'd need to convert all the textures to be compatible with Vanilla then add them to a new MPQ patch. Short answer is it's not easy.

Good news! I'm about to upload an update that includes a new Tree Form model. It's not the Cata version, it's my own custom model.

Now I'm making a custom Tree Form. It uses the old Ent model's animations, which I prefer over Blizzard's official updated Tree Form.

May I ask why you need WoWMe to run those? Cant client read the MPQ file as in vanilla or WotLK ?

Others have done it, but I don't know how to make the client read custom patches without WoWMe in TBC.

I seem to have FPS drops/ Stutters sometimes with this mod, cant figure out when it happens seems random but pretty often.

Thanks for the report, I'll have to investigate. I had similar issues myself, but figured it was because my computer is very old and stuttery anyway.

UPDATE: Something about the BC client itself seems to not jive with any patched-in character model (works fine with creature models). The stuttering thing even happens with the original low-poly character models ported down from WotLK or up from Classic, or even just switching M2s from the very same client; just renaming DraeneiFemale.m2 to BloodElfMale.m2 and placing it in the Character/BloodElf/Male/ directory causes the same hiccup to occur when the client loads BloodElfMale.m2. In fact, changing even 1-bit of superficial information in the hex code of any patched-in character .M2 file will cause the issue. Maybe it's a residual effect from anti-cheat mechanics?

UPDATE 2: Of course I'd figure out a solution 10 minutes after posting questions in every forum I could find. My solution, or hacky work-around, was to change the location of the character models from "Character\..." to "Creature\..." and update the CreatureModelData.DBC file to reflect this.

I'm working on a custom Tauren-Druid Aquatic Form and tweaks to Night Elf Aquatic Form (i.e. making the eyes actually glow)



UPDATE: All done, I'll probably add this as an option with my Cohesive Druid Forms mod
