I'll add ground effect later, when I'm done with texturing, about those root models I'll try to search for something better that would fit into atmosphere. I'm going to experiment with those mountains for now, because yeah they need to be reworke

Hey guys

I don't remember doing a showoff of the loginscreen I made for the launch of our realm updated to MoP from WoTLK, I decided to take a little video and post it here.

[media:2pvoi1bq]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luCi_CHmdKo&feature=youtu.be[/media:2pvoi1bq]

The first time I did it, the loginscreen had 70+ plus models, and this was giving some bugs/wow errors on the model list updating. After Mordred's help by editing his original code, I also took the further step of reducing the loginscreen to 10 models.

I decided to made a giant model (like blizzard does). Here are a couple of pictures.

I also had to do some annoying things like add in a 3d tree bunch, to cover the trees on the background 2d plane model, so it would look more realistic (reference -> the trees infront of the waterfall)

I used 2d planes converted to 3d models rather and a background, and applied renderflags to them. I thought it was one of the only "decent" way of getting a moving sky along with a "bg image".

The WoW Loginscreen was based on the Website Login landingpage, so that they would share the same essence.

Here is a picture of the website login page, it was all done in Photoshop, so that is why it might seem to have a n "unrealistic" view at some angles, and that is also the main reason why the wow loginscreen changes a little bit.

Let me know what you think! :D

Thanks guys,
Soldan.
IMO you need increase the size of your background texture. It looks noisy. And I didn't like how the pandaren shaded. I can't even understand what exactly I didn't like in him. But I think he looks darker then he should. Everything else is good.

Been messing around with different textures and models to know how they look together. Going to make a little island in this style. Still figuring out how to best handle alphamaps on the whole thing though.

Let me know what you think :)

The models stand out too much, making it look unnatural.

What particular image are you talking about? I picked the models so they would fit into the scenery and I think they all do well. Are we modding WoW or real world? :D

It's funny how you're telling him some trees doesn't blend with the terrain. But if you would take a closer look, these are the tilesets from Howling Fjord, and these trees are actually from Howling Fjord, so basically Blizzard have no idea how to blend trees with terrain, right?

Probably because it just doesn't? I don't have his adts on hand and i'm only going by the pictures he posted and what he posted looks out of place.

Maybe I'm just too tired at the moment but I see a huge difference between the two in how the terrain is done which affects it, and you know what If i'm wrong then I'm wrong but I gave my opinion.

Just don't get into a fight guys.

I was experimenting with different models, those are Howling tilesets and trees, but I came across Nagrand trees and AncOrc buildings and they pretty much fit in the Howling color scheme.

Those are just 3 ADTs with the same alphamap but different tilesets and models. The mountains are not finished, only played with them for a while to practice terrain shaping.

Maybe it all looks a bit off because I haven't changed the skybox, they all have the same one, but I'm going to change that in the future. Thanks for your opinion. ;)

Yes, please, stop the pseudo internet drama. I don't want to actually moderate this place. Just coexist in friendship. Please.

It looks great and the atmosphere is amazing! But I'd make the breathing of the panda at the right a bit less rapid. Unless you were trying to reflect his old age...

After ~4 / 5 hours of work, I finally finished her.
There's some problem but, she's working fine.

I'm trying to mimic the demon hunter character selection screen they showed at gamescom in 3Ds Max (although it wasn't really a character selection screen, it was an ingame video, but anyway...)

Holy shit, that looks awesome. Especially the combination of her eyes, hair, hat and necklace. :3
