Tutorials / Re: [TUTORIAL] Dungeon entry

I think you might have a little problem within your dbc. The first number after the x, y, z axis is a ball shaped area around that point where it will trigger. As you set it to 0.0 it can´t trigger. Try it out with 3.0 or 5.0.

Due to technical problems concerning this webserver, the shoutbox had to be removed. There may or may not be an alternative solution in future, depending on wether the former issue can or cannot be avoided.
As for now you guys may use the IRC-Channel provided by the staff.

And that IRC channel is?

And what was the technical issue? Maybe one of us with some free time can work on a solution, for it surely is not impossible to resolve.

Could you please tell me which shoutbox plugin you used? I´d like to try out several things that will maybe make it possible to easily implement it in the future without those problems ;)

Whenever I create a new MPQ and add all my .ADT's , the patch only is about 1.53MB but all those 82 ADT's are about 37MB.

Well this sounds definetly wrong ;) 1,53mb is about the size of one adt. Are you sure that you added all of them? Maybe attach your MPQ so we can have a closer look at it.

For your question concerning common-2.MPQ and patch-4.MPQ. You can somehow manage that noggit also "reads" your own patchs (in the config file or such. Just look up in the noggit Manual or Wiki).

WoW itself always takes the data from the newest patch. By this we can override blizzards content located in common.MPQ until patch-3.MPQ by creating our own patch-4.MPQ. If you modify blizzard´s mpq always make a backup because you could blow up the whole thing :P

Sounds kinda interesting but do you want to adopt your system within the normal warcraft univers and without own content?
Also does it sound like some kind of skyrim-system where you can finally skill up everything and this way become a high magican wearing plate armor and a two-handed sword. Or do you want to give a certain number of skill points for each level/challange so that p.e. the player has 100 points to spend for 200 skills?

If you talk about making a worldmap check out these two tutorials:

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=188

If you want to build a map you should read the modcraft tutorial series:

Miscellaneous / Re: Achievement problem
« on: March 22, 2013, 12:58:58 am »
Well those 8 categories shown there should be managed somehow (how they are arranged, where they get the progress from etc.). This is the file/line you have to extend by your category. But i don´t have a single idea where to search... any achievment*.dbc´s for sure :X

UPDATE---

I changed the value of my dungeon in Map.dbc from "1" defining it as a dungeon back to "0" and it works as a continent just fine. I guess now my question is what else do i have to update or change to make noggit read it as a dungeon?!

You should check http://www.wowdev.wiki/index.php?title=Map.dbc
So normally it should be a 1 (3    AreaType   Integer   0: none, 1: party, 2: raid, 3: pvp, 4: arena, >=5: none (official from "IsInInstance()") )

But maybe you have to add another value to confirm that it really is a dungeon...
