This isn't anything new since others have already done it, but I finally Managed to do it by myself, basically port an adt tile from 3.3.5 to 4.0.6 lol.  Can't prove that I'm on Cataclysm so you're just gonna have to take my word for it. (well I am running the skyfire core so i guess maybe that's proof?)

I can't use Noggit for scrap, so I made a hole and pulled out the center.      8-)

If there's anyone that wouldn't mind lending me their original maps to test out, I'd really appreciate it.  This is still a work in progress when I have time to attempt at fooling around with the idea/concept.

I know it's pointless to do this now since Kaev and Cromon's working on that tool of their's... but I'm doing this for learning purposes.

EDIT

For some reason gameobjects don't spawn(or rather they seem to be removed) and wmo's aren't solid:

the objects seem to be part of that MCRD set of chunks, I removed them out of the regular obj file and the objects went poof..... ahh well, learned some stuff so it wasn't too bad lol.

Not really, I was bored so I put in empty MCLV chunks behind each MCNR chunks.  I was thinking it might make everything black or bright white XD.. but got the rainbow effect instead lol.

Empty in what way? No data at all or 145 * 4 bytes all 0?

4bytes of the name and 4bytes all 0 for no size. , just did a bunch of that lol.

and then I got:

I have no idea how to make the tex1 adt , so the tileset mapping is all screwed up.

So the client is ignoring the fact that your MCLV size is not enough to store 145 color values and just reads what comes after it. Essentially what you have there is the following memory of the adt represented as 145 color values added to the terrain ;)

Holy cow that looks good, you've done very very epically good sir! Looks just like the Wow engine, though a lot cleaner.  Do you plan to make an original game with your custom engine?

Well this is the Random thread, so here's something Random and probably an ear ache to many of you including myself lol.  But here's my failed attempt at trying to mix a Country Vocal track with an R&B Instrumental track.

[media:35jcadh5]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me1xN-TmDUQ[/media:35jcadh5]

They start to really de-sync at 30 seconds because of a tempo switch that I didn't care to correct, anyway don't kill me for hurting your ears XD.

Hehe thats rather interesting Phil =D, it really is alot harder than it looks though, one of those things that most people wouldn't know how complicated it can be till they try it :).

Speaking of I decided to turn the Ambient Overlay example in my post into a full song and working on that now. I need to know if there is to much boom from the percussion at about 57sec into the track. (keep in mind this isn't a complete version, just a sketch out of what I am wanting for that section, still working on it).

If anybody has a good system that can let me know if it is to much bass and distorting the rest of the instruments please let me know :).

After a few dozen hours, I finally got Bardh's Work in Progress map( viewtopic.php?f=37&t=8905 ) to render out in Cataclysm, Since I couldn't figure out a way to prove I was in Cata and not WoTLK, I spawned a Firehawk(since these guys don't render properly in WoTLK):

Bass hits good, it sounds spooky too :), Good job, though the sound where the first drop happens at 0:40 seconds seems to be a bit too loud somewhere because it sounds distorted on my end, like the compression of the sounds didn't quite line up, All other hits after that are fine.

Reminds me of a FF7 song, can't quite place it XD
