Modelling and Animation / Creature to character?
« on: April 26, 2014, 06:48:57 pm »
So i found http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/world-o ... ature.html but this is for 3.3.5 back when we had mywarcraft studios and had the right mpq. patch-enGB-2.mpq doesnt exist anymore. So how do people swap creature to character these days?

In textures/backednpctextures are almost all textures that every npc are using. If you really want to fix npc's you would need to find all tauren textures and edit faces with tanuka what will take you so much time.
so you are saying i would have to go to texture--->creature and then edit every single tauren npc to taunka?

Define "hex".

The problem is that NPCs are using baked textures, not the ones defined in model/charsections.
Well, i thought the only way to fix was through hex. I have no clue what you just said about baked textures. Basically, I am just looking for anykind of fix.

im confused. how would i go about editing particles? i cant seem to open anything with py model editor.

Well, it's quite difficult to edit Cata/MoP/WoD models. There are plenty of tools for wrath of the lich king, but not for 4.X+ models. If you have no experience in model edits it will be VERY difficult for you tu succeed.
I don't know if py model editor works with 4.X models, but you can use hex to edit the login screen lights/colors.

I am very expirenced with normal model editing/swappimg/reskinning, just not with a .m2 file. any link for hex editing guide on particles, or couls you tell me what numbers i should look for 010?

It's a simple recolor. You must open the textures and recolor them to red with photoshop/gimp. Also, you will need to change the particle color (it has 87 particles), the light color and the geoset color (you can use hex, py model editor, etc.)
couls you link py model editor or another program to change particle numbers? i dont like messing with hex.

Remember that the particle system changed in cataclysm. You can't edit 4.X+ models with 3.X tools.

I don't think you "start Python". Python is a programming language.
