I've been re-trying to port the WoD login to WOTLK, and it looks pretty good now.

There was some stuff  I just couldn't get to render properly like the clouds and particles outside the portal. I don't think it's in the renderflags as that bareley changed anything maybe the order/flags in the skin file? I don't really know where those flags/shaders are documented.

In the end I just removed them.

As that's somewhat of a hackfix, when the animations reset it shows its uglyness.

I tried changing the length, playback speed and some timestamps  in the animation to stop it from resetting everything to but only caused a freeze.

If anyone knows how to make that stuff render properly or how to stop the animations from resetting that'd be great.

EDIT

Turns out I can't simply remove textures by setting everything to 0 for some stuff, changed the order to 32768 to hide them.

I want to convert Draenor to WOTLK. I converted all the doodad M2's, but I can't seem to find an ADT converter since the links are dead for the MOP -> WOTLK. I also have to convert the WMO's, and I found a script here http://modcraft.io/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=8646. I will test it out tommorow, but is using that script the proper way? Apperantly in the replies it said something about fixing blend.
 
Since I can't try the ADT converter on Draenor stuff, I don't know if it works. So basically my question is how do you convert the WMO's/ADT's properly?

Because I have to convert a lot, I'd also like to know the most efficient way.

Modelling and Animation / [QUESTION] Add new geoset to model?

I've had this problem for a while, and I made some posts mentioning it for this model. It could be that the question is wrong, but from what I can understand.. the attachments are where parts of the body are located and the geosets are used for armor etc.. submeshes I have yet to wrap my head around.

Anyway I want to add a geoset for the Vrykul female cloak, I already removed the textures through 010. This is a model I found somewhere on the internet, so I didn't add all the other geosets. I found the model that was edited and looked for the differences, which were a lot the submeshes, bones and vertex stuff in both the skin files and M2. Not exactly familiar with all these terms.. :(

Maybe a bit of a long-threaded question but I'd love to know how to do this myself, even when starting from scratch with the model since the one I downloaded has corrupt skin files to be converted to M2i.

As the title states, I want to use other models their animations. I looked in the M2 file and couldn't really figure out how to copy it with that method, since I don't see any reference to the .anim files, not even sure if that is the way to go.

Or perhaps I have to do it with blender?

I'd like to know how to remove the exta textures from a model, in my instance the Vrykul female.

As you can see, it has a cloak, is it possible to remove such textures? I looked at the skin BLP and saw that the cloak wasn't on it so it must be something sepperate.

I'm trying to set the background of the Troll to the cata one, but it keeps using the Orc UI I don't really know how to refer to the troll race and I couldn't see anything obvious in the LUA.

Modelling and Animation / [SOLVED] Pandaren no spell visual

The spells are kind of messed up for some reason. On all my custom races they work fine but the Pandaren have very small or no visuals for spells that are either on them (buffs etc) or coming directly from the model (like Shadowflame).

The Worgen female also seems to be having this problem.

Screenshot may be a bit vague, but I don't think I need one anyway to explain this.

Any ideas on this?

Modelling and Animation / [QUESTION] Edit attachment location?

I'm trying to edit the location of the attachments on the Vrykul female model, I tried first with PyModelEditor. In the attachments tab I tried to change the numbers of the right shoulder (I believe its XYZ?) but nothing really changed.

I actually don't know if this corresponds to attachments or geosets in the editor, regardless of that I'd like to know how to fix this with or without this editor.

Modelling and Animation / [SOLVED]Pandaren 3.3.5a

I'm trying to get the Pandaren working, without textures no problems but once I use the BLP's my client crashes and I read somewhere this is due to the resolution being upped to 512x1024.

The thing is.. would I have to change how the model uses textures to get it working or change the actual textures? I think I'd have to edit the UV mapping in blender at least but is that all I have to do?

I saw quite a lot of posts from anthony about the Pandaren patch but it seems all those links are down, if anyone has it lieing around it would save me a lot of trouble.

Goblin is working (except direct morph to GoblinMale.m2 for instance) and the Worgen always crashes on every model. I can't seem to figure this out so if someone could lend me a hand. I think I've messed up in the DBC.

"Retro-Porting" / [SOLVED]All Cataclysm creatures in 3.3.5a.. crash?

I'm using Anthony's 4.0.0 - 5.4.0 content patch, and I exported all the creatures from cataclysm to 3.3.5a. There's a problem though, in some zones at certain locations it crashes due to the spawned creatures (no idea which) a lot of the creatures have texture issues too. All the "regular" new NPC's have no textures like any normal race really that wasn't in WOTLK.

I have only made SQL modifications for the creature_template, creature, creature_template_addon, creature_addon, waypoints, waypoints_data, waypoints_scripts not the scripts etc which I might not even do I also removed all the auras, spells, AIScripts, and scriptnames in the creature_template/creature_addon/creature_template_addon. I haven't removed my old creature stuff (except the creatures themselves) so I get a lot of missing DB errors which I don't think should be a problem atm.. right?

I tried looking at some creatures that had no textures, looked up the displayID in CreateDisplayInfo.dbc of one of those "regular" NPC's and found they had no skins in column 7-9 and neither did they have that in the MoP DBC.  Are these textures defined in CreatureModelData.dbc (or perhaps CreatureDisplayInfoExtra)?

I'm currently using CASCExplorer on the WoD Beta but I can't find the login screen files in the Interface > Glues > Models folder (it has the new one though in the client). Are these hidden or something?
