"Retro-Porting" / [WoD] [SOLVED] Downporting Senegos from Legion

Hello people of Modcraft. I am currently trying to downport Senegos from Legion into 6.2.2 WoD.

But seemingly the morph just doesn't appear. I have tried removing cameras, events or ribbonemitters. All in one take, and seperately. Also the model doesn't seem to have any particles, it that shouldn't be that issue.

Anyone have a fresh take on what is going wrong?

Hello Modcraft,

Recently I've been trying with many attempts to hex edit and other various methods.

Nefarian's dragon form has the flying animations, however what I am trying to do is making that when a player that is morphed into the Nefarian decides to fly with the model, it actually shows the flying animations, instead of just walking in mid air.

So I wondered if anyone knew a great deal about how animations are triggered, and how I would be able to change it so that Nefarian will fly, when the player morphed onto him flies too.

I've been trying to compare his animations to other dragon models that flies when the player flies, and seemingly all I've gotten are wow errors or no result at all.

I've been looking at the wiki and searched for topics on the forums for a solution, but seemingly I couldn't find one that answered my question.

I hope that you can share the knowledge I need to do this, thanks Modcraft.

Client Version: 4.0.6a

Question: I would like to know where the strings for the Character Backgounds  (those at CharacterCreate/CharacterSelect). But I cannot find the strings or lines for that matter. I am seeking to change out the Character Backgrounds with a blp instead.

Would anyone which file I would need to edit in order to change out the character backgrounds with a blp?

Texturing and 2D Art / [Question] BLPs screwing me

Lately, everything I have tried to edit through blp use, seem to not appear when I try to spawn it in-game.

I use this procedure:

Open up Ladik's MPQ Editor -> art.mpq -> Creature folder -> Extracts blps -> Converts blps through BLPConverter -> Uses photoshop -> Change saturation to a more red color -> BLP Converter -> Puts into patch, with right paths.

But it doesn't appear up in-game, it literally just doesn't appear.

I tried this with Nagrand Isle, and tried it with Kalecgos. (Although I saw my reskinned Kalecgos in WoW Model Viewer)

(I remember to use indexed in Photoshop)

(I use 4.0.6a client files)

I wondered recently.

If it was possible to modify Ground Runes to become tiles or grass ground as a spawnable gobject.

I wondered if these ground runes worked by blp, that could be edited in Photoshop.

For example:

to be in-game spawnable:


Why I want this is because these runes shapes after the terrain spawned upon.

Even mountains and such.


If this is too complicated to be said, I would like to request that someone would do it for me (:

Why I wouldn't use Noggit, is because I run on 4.0.6a server, and would like this to be spawnable for all players on the server.

I've tried to see this for a while.

Lately I have been working on dragon animations. And it seems all dragons have the same animations in all of their base models, but not all triggered the same way.

Some dragons, called NorthrendDragon flies directly when you use the GM command of fly, it directly triggers.

But how do I for an example make Malygos to trigger that the same way?

How do I make animations trigger like how another model does?

Level Design / [SOLVED] AreaTable.dbc (Cata)

So I remember on 3.3.5, that it was relatively easily to modify AreaTable.dbc.

What I would like to do is to change the name of one line in my AreaTable.dbc.  

Now I am doing it on Cataclysm, and signature check came in the way.

I tried Obsidian Lair into Heartwing Lair.

baseDBFilesClientAreaTable.dbc was my path in my patch.


The error:

Signature check.

Found 96, expected 100.

I edited the very file from the client.

I run on a 4.0.6a client.

I imported Kalecgos blps and converted and edited them in Photoshop.

I made sure that the format was indexed and not RGB.

I removed camera settings (by hex edit)

I made my patch:

Creatures/DragonKalecgos/DragonKalecgos.m2
Along with all the skins and animations and the modified blps.

But he keeps staying blue.

What am I doing wrong?

So lately. I've tried finding tileset for 4.3 dungeons such as End Time. I've looked everywhere in both art.mpq and locale-enUS. I couldn't find it. Anyone know where to find?

Second question:
Is it possible through only client-side to swap an instance with for an example Well of Eternity? If, please I would like to know so, also where to find files to swap.
