Just out of curiosity, how far are you from releasing 1.5 version which would be (at least by Noggit standarts) considered to be stable?

There is currently nobody working on it.

There is also no release plan, so even if someone was working on something, that wouldn't mean 1.5. If you want to help, try creating an issue with a plan of what to do for it and stuff.

Well, the last released version is 3.1021, but I've got 3.1161 on my computer and I suppose there's even newer version in repo, so thats mainly why I ask.

Note that the big difference in version number there is mostly due to qt branch commits. Not that much happened in the SDL version.

Unless there are automatically deployed builds, I'm not a fan of pushing out builds just for the sake of it. Some plan as to what should be included or fixed really should be done. Note that I would be shit at it as I don't even know what NoggIt currently _can_ do, even less what the biggest issues or feature requests are.

Well, have you even checked issue tracker? There's damn plenty of stuff written by me already.

I am aware of that. And if you remember, I have even replied to them. I'm not really working on the SDL version though, so I'm not paying a lot of attention to features and bugs there. It also is no priorization, and someone who doesn't use the software at all (me) should really not do that.

People who develop tools like Noggit often do not use them themselves. It is a big problem actually. Programmers sadly are often bad at design (no offense, it is just a common situation) and they have no interest of using things aimed for designing. :(

Sometimes I telling myself noggit would need a restart, since moving SDL version to Qt.
Wouldn't be best to restart it?

PS: I didnt use noggit for 3 years.. Just watching news and videos

It needs developers either way, and there are only short episodes of motivation. Restarting takes even more time and energy, and fails just as well as seen in cromon's projects.

Cromon always start a new project and then left him after 2-3 months.. but at least he has some knowledge to make something in 2-3 months

Should there be a Tablet control toggle for Blur/Flatten and 3-D Paint?  I can't seem to change the Blur radius or 3-D paint pressure values.  Or am I missing the obvious, somewhere.  I did turn off the tablet function under the Raise/Lower Panel, and the parameters in that panel are all adjustable but that doesn't seem to transfer to the other 2.

I know this is kind of old, but I believe I can help the people still having the issue described in the quote above.

The problem only happens to those that have a pen tablet installed on their PC: if you don't have a pen tablet driver installed you shouldn't have the issue described in the quote above.

So first of all, to work in Noggit you have 2 choices:
1) work with a mouse and a pen tablet connected.
2) work just using your mouse (without a pen tablet connected).

[1] WORK WITH MOUSE & PEN TABLET CONNECTED
If you do want to use a pen tablet (I do use a Wacom Intuos 4) simply plug it into your pc, run Noggit, and you will see that all the controls for "Raise/Lower", "Flatten/Blur" and "3D Paint" are driven by the tablet pen pressure. So everything works fine using the pen tablet.
Also bear in mind that keeping the pen tablet connected doesn't prevent you from using your mouse as well (if/when needed).
However bear in mind that in this setup (tablet/mouse) using the "Flatten/Blur" and/or the "3D Paint" with the mouse still have the bug of the not working Pressure (that however work with the pen tablet).

[2] WORK WITH MOUSE ONLY (WITHOUT A PEN TABLET CONNECTED)
If you do want to use a pen tablet and you prefer to only use your mouse you will experience the issue described in the quote above if you have a pen tablet installed on your pc. The fix however is pretty simple: to get all the controls for "Raise/Lower", "Flatten/Blur" and "3D Paint" to work correctly with the mouse you have to stop the tablet service in the Windows Services (in my case the "Wacom Professional Service").
I always did that with Noggit closed and it always worked: so just in case, close Noggit, go to your Windows services, find the tablet service and stop it, then launch Noggit again and now all the controls for "Raise/Lower", "Flatten/Blur" and "3D Paint" should work properly with the mouse as well.
[NOTE] Bear in mind that whenever you want to use your pen tablet again (for example to paint something in Photoshop) you will have to restart the service.

I hope this helps. ;)
