[TUTORIAL] Importing custom models
« on: May 18, 2012, 01:55:17 pm »
Hey, i've decided to make a guide on how i import models into wow.
This is my first ever guide, hope its help.

Things you'll need

 • CollisionAdder.
 • 3DSMax, Any version, doesn't really matter.
 • Soulburn script(ObjectDetatcher) You can get it HERE, pretty easy to setup, just follow the guide.
 • Glitchy's MES, Used to change the OBJ to M2.
 • BLP Converter

Download few of the tools HERE

Lets get started.

Hopefully you have your model ready.

 • Go into Vertex mode and select all your vertices.
 • Go into Edit Vertices and click break.
 • Click objectDetatcher, this should detatch ever face from the current model. (doing this keeps our models texture from glitching ingame)
Note, if the model has about 10k+ verts when you break them, detatch a few at a time, otherwise your 3DSMax might crash. - Also sometimes it shows as 3dsmax isnt responding, just wait for it to complete.

now your model is all detatched put them all into a group, name it whatever you like.
Now export it too OBJ, put it into same folder as your texture.
Makes sure your export options are

Then
[li]Open up Glitchy's MES[/li]
[li]open your OBJ and BLP files into Glitchys. [/li]
Max bound is the Size you want the model too be ingame.
once you've done that click Convert in Save as M2 section.
you should have the M2 and Skin in your folder.
if you want collision on your model just drag and drop over CollisionAdder, then go back into GlitchysMES and Create MPQ.
For M2 path, find the models path you want too change.
once you have done all that click Make MPQ and go ingame.
