lands wont show in noggit!
« on: July 14, 2010, 10:12:00 am »

UPDATE

my problem is now fixed! Thanks!

ok so i went through all the steps

i put adt files and the wdt file in their respective spots(data/world/Test)
i am still unclear of where to put my .dbc file. I did edit the maps.dbc and put in all the infor on the chart for my new instance.

When i start up Noggit i can see my zone in the list(in this case mine is called "Test")
I click on it and the whit/clear box shows up and after i load in there is nothing... just sky and no land
i did put in the  tilesetelwynnelwynngrassbase.blp for my original .adt

Sorry my post is kinds messed up, im really flusterd right now and its late here. I just wanted to get my question out there

Also if u want me too i will upload pic or file if u need
HELP :!:  :!:  :!:  :!:  :!:  :!:  :!:  :!:  :!:  :!:  :!:

This could be the problem too, ill explain

After you save your first .adt, you then create the rest of them in the adt_adder program
       After this  Eulo's guide states

Quote
Now like that they won't show up in Noggit or InGame.
You need to fixx them a little bit...for taht ,just copy the offsetfixx.exe and the cygwin1.dll into the folder where the adts are located. Now create a new Textdocument where you paste this in:

after this i made the word document and pasted this into it
Quote
@echo off
for %%i in (*.adt) do OffsetFix.exe "%%i"
pause

i saved it as a batch file and ran it. MY command prompt opened with the fixing messages, escept they were not the normal messages. Here is what  the log said

So  does this mean that my fix did not work and if so does it mean that this is why i am having this problem?  its obvious that its not working i mean look
'OffsetFix.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file. is defiantly not good.

If this is not the problem then maybe its my  map.dbc file cause i don't know where to put it

1.) put the map.dbc in your Worldofwarcraft folger....
like this way WorldofWarcraftDBFilesClientMap.dbc
if there aren't folders, creat them

2.) if u use vista, start OffsetFix.exe only as admin

3.) a second way to use the OffsetFix.exe is to drop the *.adt file over the OffsetFix.exe, a dosscrean opens und closes automaticly
now the Offset is doen

Ok so i ran the .bat file as admin and this is what came up

Quote
Press any key to continue . . .
As u can see this  log is aloooot shorter than the one with the errors. so did it mean that it worked? also  i have a folder called DBFilesClient and the the new map .dbc is in there right now this folder is located in C:Program FilesWorld of Warcraft

i will tell u the other folders in that file so that i can be sure its in the right spot.

there is Data, errors,  interface, and screen shot
<----- those are just some but but its in the folder where the wow.exe is and launcher.exe

i am going to try noggit now

Uggh its still not working,

i put all my .adt files and the .wdt in my  C:Program FilesWorld of WarcraftDataworldMapsTest

then i created  a new folder called DBFilesClient wich is located here

C:Program FilesWorld of WarcraftDBFilesClient

DBFilesClient has the new Map.dbc file in it

So thiis is the .bat fix issue right? since all my files are placed correctly

i tried all the ways u said

lol
use the offsetfixe only with all 3 files :D

1.) u always need an offsetfix when creating new *.adt files, because new adt files need a new *.wdt file to show WoW where the adt are. And u use the adtadder to creat more adt's, but the begining was always a original WoW *adt file (for example Kalimdor_1_1). So the adt is located in the wdt by name. (_1_1 =  the coordinates) when editing the _1_1 to (for example Test_2_2) the adt gets new coordinates. the ground is only locatet at 1_1, so at 2_2 is nothing in noggit. the offsetfix editing the ground at 2_2 to normal (size 0) that is shown in noggit

2.) the folder DBFilesClient is only for noggit to show the new continent or instance. because (i think so) noggit cant read files in an editing mpq

btw
congratulation and good luck on ur way to worldbuilding

sry for my english but its late and im very weary
