Something weird in noggit
« on: August 19, 2015, 12:55:37 pm »
Hi ! First of all I'm a Mac user but for some reasons I installed windows 7 on my Mac (using Bootcamp).
I used to make my map with noggit SDL 1.3 (compiled on Mac). And when I try to open up a Mac on windows with any version of Noggit it is lagging, exactly the same problem here : viewtopic.php?f=48&t=9437
So I guess it's because of the graphic card (chipset Intel 4000). But the thing is why Noggit work perfectly on Mac and not on windows ?  Because the graphic card is the same.

PS : I tested Neo and there is not this issue.

Because the card comes with a driver and the quality of that driver may differ between the operating systems. In addition noggit isn't exactly the most performant and does not use modern OpenGL, so some drivers may have worse performance than a few years ago due to optimizing for different use cases. All I can suggest is updating the drivers and if you have, using the secondary gpu instead.

I get the same problem on my mac The only drivers to update are Graphics drivers aren't ? Because I have the last ones and nothing hapens.
This is quiet weird, everything seems okay I can select object and move it, water etc... But wen I try to click on the floor, the pointer disappears and everything is freezing.
@Zflink Why don't compile the last rev on mac ?

I downloaded the latest driver and same issue, I didn't compiled on Mac because all my softwares (modding, wow) are on windows and I thought it could be easier if noggit was on windows too.
