Noggit / Re: texture fucked, cant resolve it with noggit
« on: April 09, 2014, 08:36:12 pm »
I have this problem with every ADT (I use copies of QA_DVD ADTs) after first save after adding new textures to chunks, but when I edit it again and save it again, it disappears. Try to do something with that ADT, re-save it and re-update your patch. This helped me everytime. If this doesn't help, I have no other solution for you.

Level Design / [QUESTION] Cataclysm water in WotLK
« on: March 27, 2014, 04:14:44 pm »
Name of topic says all. So, would it be possible to import water from cataclysm to WotLK? Its just question, I'm nearly sure it would need to make changes in engine and thats no simple work with MPQ patches, but if there is some way, I would welcome it. If not, just say no :P.

Noggit / Re: [QUESTION] Something causes low fps..
« on: March 27, 2014, 04:03:56 pm »
Ah nope guys, problem is somewhere else I guess. When you try to place WMO from Import in 1.2SDL, noggit usually crashes (if you haven't copied some WMO before you tried to import), but sometimes it spawns invisible shadow of object. WMO is inivisble in both game and noggit, you may see only shadows or minimap in game while you fly above that place and it has huge effect on FPS (I have 60FPS nearly everywhere, when i meet such broken WMO it drops to about 5).

Way to fix this:
Go to noggit and keep clicking around area, where FPS drops. You may need to check the whole ADT. Have F8 (detailed info) showed and wait until you target some invisible WMO object. Delete it and continue, there might be more of them. If you manage to find and delete all broken WMOs, problem will be solved. If there are more of those broken WMOs, you can experience that FPS drops aren't so drastic after deleting at least some of them, but even 1 WMO can cause drops to 10 FPS, so there will be only little difference between 1 and 5 glitched objects.

This happens only when you try to import WMO from Import file and WMO doesn't show, but noggit doesn't crash. I met this only 3 times in last 1 & 1/2 year, so its quite rare bug. Btw, I have no experience with appearing this bug in 1.3SDL and I haven't tryed to fix anything like that made there, but for 1.2SDL this should work.

Contact me on skype striker159753 if you still have these problems. I am from CZ too btw :P. Then I'll post solution here if found, I just don't want to spam with stupid ideas like some other guys do.

Noggit / Re: [Help] Worldbuilds Crash In-Game
« on: March 27, 2014, 01:25:35 am »
(I know this is a bit outdated topic, but I want to help everyone who is trying to google solution of this problem)

I'm not sure what really causes this error but I meet it quite often. I run Noggit 1.2SDL (currently I am also testing 1.3SDL), Win 7, WoW 3.3.5a. Anyway it has something to do with textures. Way to fix it is here.:

-> Find out which ADT is giving you errors. Fly in circles around area giving you errors, you need to know which ADT is "broken".

-> Go back to noggit and make sure that every chunk on that "broken" ADT has 4 textures on it. Just click with 0,01 pressure to apply textures where they are missing and you don't want to have them there visible. You can swap textures with texture swapper later whenever you need to paint something new on that chunks.

Thats all. Error should be fixed now :). It happens especially on ADTs with ground effects, btw, but today it happened to me with 1.3SDL on ADT where were only textures without any ground effects on (I didn't place any on that map yet). Strange... Anyway this old solution still worked for me.

Noggit / Re: Do not use compatibility or admin mode !
« on: January 11, 2014, 01:40:21 pm »
Wut?
I'm using SDL 1.2 for more than a year with both admin mode and compatibility mode on my Windows 7 (I use service pack 2 for Windows XP). I made about 5 fully working custom maps in it, made a lot of changes in Azeroth and never met problems. Yes, WMOs can't be added, but only through Import from txt function and only when I don't add any WMO while using copy from ctr+c and ctrl+v.

So, if you are using admin and compatibility, just simply go into some finished location, ctrl+c and ctrl+v some object (after it you can delete copy/original, place it anywhere else, leave map and go to another - it doesn't matter), then you can start importing WMOs. You have to repeat this after every new startup of noggit. Ah and just btw, once again, this is for SDL 1.2. I don't work with 1.3 yet, I want to wait until as many bugs as possible are fixed. :ugeek:

(Just one question, what do you mean here?: "If you add a model, noggit can´t find in any MPQ it will crash. If you don´t have admin mode turned on it will simple not add the model. This can kill you much work if you havend saved before." - I never encountered noggit crashes after trying to import or copy model and like I said, I use both admin and compatibility modes at once, without them my noggit doesn't even start.)

Hexa editing/C++ command, it can be reached by both of these ways. Gwyn should be able to make the first one work, the second one was succesfully achieved by Athert.

Edit: I got the tabard to work by switching the model, but I can't get the hair to work. I had to disable hair when I exported it, and when I try to enter the hair on the DBC, it has no effect in-game.
Field "Wrist" (18*) in CreatureDisplayInfoExtra.dbc is not for adding wrist displayID, there is a mistake, its used for tabard. Put  there any displayID of tabard, for instance 6255 worked fine for me.

About ANY hair/beard problems:
1) check if you have right race ID (1 for human, for another check ChrRaces.dbc)
2) check if you have gender ID (its MOSTLY 0 for male and 1 for female, but for instance for BE its switched)
3) check your fields 6, 7, 8*.:
#6 - hair STYLE, not color, in WmV its ordered like "hair color, hair style, facial featrure, in DBC are color and style SWITCHED
#7 - hair COLOR, see #6
#8 - facial feature (beard, piercings,...)

I hope I was helpful.
