[QUESTION] MPQ Editor
« on: March 02, 2015, 06:04:49 pm »
Hello

I have a little (big) problem with MPQ editor.
When I create a new patch (as always) and try to login, it show me a WoW Error.

Error #134 (0x85100086) Fatal Condition
Failed to read file (listfile)

I try reinstall my WoW and MPQ editor but  have still that same problem. I work with MPQ editor for a year but never had this problem...
So, I will be glad for any advice.

If this error appears more than 1 time a simple mpq editor reinstall should help.
I had this problem a while ago and i reinstalled like 5 times but it works now :D

I had this problem once and(based on my experience, which is little) I think it was because I didn't put all the necessary files on the MPQ, that are required for something to work. I thought that was the problem, after I did what was required the error didn't appear anymore.

I delete MPQ editor and install it again but I don't know if that's enough...

Well try to do what Fakete95 said, since it seems to be happening more than 1 time, I usually create MPQ's to add new areas on WoW, and thought that missing any necessary file would probably crash WoW, since it happened only once for me im not sure what may exactly cause the error, so try to reinstall it.

As far as i know a "patch-sss" won't be loaded therefor your game won't crash. But the error says that the listfile could not be read.

What Jøk3r is very true, I used to create patches like Patch-100 and they would not load, I wouldn't see changes ingame, but when I named them like Patch-A or Patch-8 they worked fine. But see if you're doing everything correct, I usually create patches from a directory and never had these kind of problems, this error appeared once when I tried to add some files manually to the MPQ and it seems I did something wrong.
