I take that back. Rofl
Anyone know how I would go about making areas darker? not the texture or the feeling, but making the lighting darker. If you still don't know how to change the lightning (skybox) here's the tuturial. http://modcraft.io/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=673&p=4340

Why convert and not just using mydbceditor. What do you mean? Im talking about converting the .csv's back to .dbc again, Last but not least you create with WinMPQ or a similar tool a patch.
Revert the two DBCs from *.csv.dbc to *.dbc by drag&drop over DBCUtil.exe
The "soldier.blp" must have the following path: textures BakedNpcTextures Both DBC files must have the following path: DBFilesClient
Start World of Warcraft and admire your work! Did I miss anything or?

Ive followed the guide but it does not seem to work for me, when I try to change myself or an NPC into the display ID nothing happens they stay the same and when I try to spawn the creature the skin is the same as before aswell.. as of now every NPC in-game has a white skin without any textures.. any idea what i could've done wrong? Betting 90 out of 100 that you broke the creaturedisplayinfoextra, e.g. using Tallis.
I didnt open it with taliis.. Thank you for saying it tho it might spare me another bug similar to this one :) I extracted both of the dbcs and only modified the DisplayidExtra or whatever it is called. I converted them back to dbcs and moved them to DBFilesClient inside of my patch map and the .blp in the path that is given in this tut. Sorry if there are any typos im writing from my phone lol

as Steff said: Schlumpf did nothing. only dbc So if I get this right you can basicly copy LyquidType.dbc from cataclysm and convert it to the WoTLK version to get the cata water? Im not an expierenced DBC converter nor do I understand everything from it but this sounds like an easy solution. Correct me if im wrong

Hi, im not sure if this is the right section to post this in but is there any way to get the cataclysm water into patch 3.3.5a WoTLK? If so is this done by a patch or something with the DBC's?
I'd love to hear some more information about this

Spawn them server side or use a WMO's doodad sets. Thank you. Don't put M2 into a WMO, just don't. Try with this viewtopic.php?f=59&t=4643 Thank you.

I've been busy making my own continent and I noticed that when I spawn doodads with noggit they will show up in-game but when I enter the building they disapear. Is there anything that could fix this? Ive seen some other people work within houses and when they walk in it the doodads do not disapear.

Can you select the building at all? Noggit user manual Select and move models
To select an object just click on it in the 3D view. Around the selected object you will see one or more white boxes and some colored lines. The with boxes are the bounding boxes of the model and the lines mark the rotation axis for x,y and z origion of it.
With mouse assistance The movement of M2 and WMO models with the mouse are the same. But sizing work only with M2s because the WMO format dont support scaling. Shift + Right-click + Mouse-movement (sideways): Rotate the object in a circle, following the Z-axis Shift + Middlemouse + Mouse-movement (up/down): Moves the object up and down, depending on mouse movement CTRL + Right-click + Mouse-movement (sideways): Rotates the object, following the X-axis (red line linked to object) CTRL + Middlemouse + Mouse-movement (any): Moves the object, following the Z and Y-axis ALT + Right-click + Mouse-movement (sideways): Rotates the object, following the Y-axis (blue line linked to object) M2:ALT + Middlemouse + Mouse-movement (up/down): Scales the object, increasing size by moving the mouse upwards, decreasing, if moving the mouse downwards WMO:ALT + Middlemouse + Mouse-movement (any): Moves the object, following the Z and X-axis
Only with keyboard (numpad) You can also modify the most position and scaling values with the numpad on the keyboard without using the mouse. + and - scale the model. 4, 8, 6 and 3 change the position of the model on the ground in x and y direction. 7 and 8 change the up/down (z axis) position of the selected model. 1 and 2 rotate the model on z axis.
Special keys The Page Down key set a model with his origin to the ground level. The key combination Shift and R reset all rotation and panning values to 0. If you select a WMO you can change the doodadset by pressing 1 to 9. You could also try (when you can select the building) CTRL + R and then try to rotate it.

Hi, first of all im sorry if this is in the wrong section, im absolutly clueless where to ask this. So recently ive decided to try and make my own custom area, ive been following the guide on this site and I am currently at part 2/3. Everything before that went great but as soon as I had to work with the MPQ editor everything just failed. So everytime I open locale-enUS.MPQ it works fine but after the point that I need to extract the Maps.dbc it goes wrong. Saying that Maps.dbc cant be opened by Ladiks MPQ editor *CANT POST IMAGES SOMEHOW* Any ideas how I can fix this? -Ilc
