Noggit / Re:  [RELEASE] [BETA] Noggit SDL 1.4

The reason is very simple. Most functions in Noggit does not unload their temporary useless data after saving. So, every time you save your RAM usage increases and it starts consuming more pc resources and it slows down your FPS. The problem is the lack of memory management/allocation or whatever it is called. I am not really a programmer, so maybe it is wrong.

Seems like a sound explanation. Thanks, Skarn. :)

Firstly, loving the new version. Truly enjoying it.

I just wish to share a weird moment I had with this revision.

There I was, just popping go's in and molding the landscape for a zone I'm working on.
Then I save, FPS goes up to 60 something and everything is running so smoothly, I've never had my FPS over 30, even with flatout empty ADT's.
And then I save again and FPS drops to the usual 10-20. I've tried to get 60 again numerous times but to no avail.

Not complaining, simply thought I had to share this. If anyone does have an explanation for this though, I'd love to hear it!

Language: Estonian, English, German

-----------------------------------------------------

Brief introduction of yourself: I'm 19 and from Estonia. I've played WoW since 2006, really focused on roleplay. I know a lot about the lore and thus I have a high level of fantasy. I'm a first year student at an IT college, studying IT system administration. I'm also a small-time track athlete with several national medals and a national record. (Not that it matters here! :P) I'm very fluent in english. One year ago, I even claimed 2nd place at the national English Speaking Competition. So, I got that going on.

List of skills you have: I've worked with Noggit for most of the time I've focused on wow modding, although I'm generally poor in texturing - it's a curse, hah! I've also done little work with the database but I wouldn't count that as a strong suite either.

What do you want to do: I'm interested in world-building for Maruum as I have a couple of ideas in my head I'd wish to fulfill. I can also work on the lore and quests since I'm fond of coming up with new ideas, events and stories that people can interact with.

Have you worked on other projects: I've worked on several projects, most of which I've cancelled because either I didn't like it or I didn't have the motivation to finish it. These project include an Emerald Dream build and a roleplaying server. My latest project was a single-player experience based on the events of a video game called Gothic. I have also worked on world-builds and a few stories for the early stages of Prologue.

I remember on playing on your server some years ago.
Content was over pretty quick, yeah, but it was still pretty badass.
It was a totally different experience.

Can't wait for beta. Good luck!

Updated with Kor'kron Hold in Malachite Valley and its surroundings!

Also! We will not be merging with Ashbringer as we want it to be a completely different expanion from it.

As I've mentioned, Malachite Valley will be ready soon and I'll give you a few screens. :)

Is Ashbringer even active?

mapalpha.png[/attachment:2jrhpz3l]"Dreams are often depicted as beautiful and soothing but people tend to forget that nightmares are also dreams. And the worst of them all, has already taken place. Ysera, the keeper of the Dream, has fallen captive to the Nightmare and now they seek to spread their corruption throughout the realm of nature and cross the boundaries between Azeroth and the Emerald Dream. The power of the Nightmare is far too great for only us to handle so we have decided to request the aid of Azeroth's heroes in this quest. A decision not so simply made. Their actions will alter the Dream but It's a small price to be paid, as we will march against the greatest enemy so far."

Hello

I am challening myself to create a custom expansion for World of Warcraft titled "Emerald Dream". The idea actually came back in 2010.
I don't even remember why I didn't finish it, but I'm trying to light up the motivation in me to finish it this time.

I've got some main concepts ready for it. It will feature:
    # The Emerald Dream in which the players can explore and quest in it in their physical bodies
    # Custom lore, which me and a few buddies will attempt to keep it on line with Blizzard's lore on the Emerald Dream
    # New Quests that will introduce the players to the custom lore
    # Leveling from 80 - 90
    # Custom Dungeons, maybe a raid
    # Custom items
I probably can't finish this alone so I will most likely ask for some help after I've completed a few zones.
The expansion will be available to everybody as soon as possible and 3.3.5 servers will be able to use it.
The main map concept which I've (badly) drawn is attached.

Malachite Valley is nearing completion and I will show it here along with further updates.
