Noggit / Dev question : Texture filters

I currently rework and test the noggit UI.
Yesterday I added some more usefull word filters to the texture filter window.



Now the window is getting to big I think for smaller then hd screens.
Now my question is.

Are the zone filters usefull or could I just take them out.
I never used them and even if they are gone you can just reload noggit and only load the textures of the zone you want. This way you get the same result. Only textures from one zone.

Please vote and tell me your reasons why they are needed.

Noggit / Give something back!

The development on noggit is going on and all you guys love the new versions.

But it would be very nice if YOU could give some time back and help us to update the manual.
You can access it in the wiki and it is still on sdl 1.2 state.

So I search some people helping here out and with this again support people that are new to the tool and will find a faster way into it.

So lets start ! ?

Paralell to map work I also do some development again on noggit lifeseed.
It is an ingame Addon that guves you an interface for the existing GM commands to fast create serverside content.
If the commands that exist are all implementd I want to create some new for quest creation for example.
But step by step. First I had to update the addon that it works in wod.

After this I started to implement waypoints as a first function. The UI is still in technical testing state. I will change it to something more practical if the techs tuff works and I know what features it will have finaly.

Here a video of the old wotlk version. Current state is optical nearly the same only waypoints get added. You cna find some screens of wod and waypoints editor under the video.

A selected rabbit with opend up unit selection window. Yea rabbits are Warriors :)



Now start waypoint editor and add 3 waypoints. After hit finish they get created and activated.
Also waypoint switched to edit mode. Now you can change the existing waypoints and exit the editor back to unit selection.



Sadly there is a bug in trinitys .wp show off command. I have to fix this else the waypoint globes will stay. Only gm see them but it is not nice.

Miscellaneous / WoD exe with custom content loading and interface fix

I search a WoD wow.exe that has custom content loading activated AND interface fixed.
Means it should not rename the itnerface folder to interface.old and include the delete of the md5 check.

On ownedcore and other sources I found you get only custom content loading. Interface fix is missing.

Can someone help?

Maruum / [Developer Diary 2] Na´Uhri development

As wod seams now to realy be the goal I started again on maps. The plan ist to rework the startisland we still have and the first zone to the startozone for the Na´Uhri race.

In the moment I rework the startisland to fit with the wide lakes nature style and expand it to get more space for the first save area quests. The character will get generated on this island and after you finished the quests you can get by ship to the continent.

I also rework the maps with wod models to fit to the new client. Here a first work in progress image of the island. I just started and will post from time to time new screens that show the progress. Also soon some wod ingame screens.

I have thougt about the resources section.

Would it be a good idea to split it into Software and Resources and rename the board into downloads?

For me the not software posts get a bit lost in there.

It is also planed to creat an index for the sections where the material is listed by type.

The last weeks we had many postings here that where not realy on topic.
Much stuff that was not so nice.
So I will again take our rules harder and just delete all posts that are not constructiv and ment agains people or a group of them. We are here to discuss and do our hoppy and such flame wars like they rice all over the net in the moment are just stupid. So excuse if you lost a post of yours the next weeks.

All of the above mentioned are not tolerated in our community. Discussions are of course accepted, but all of which applies to "common sense", applies to this forum as well. You think you shouldn’t do it? Don’t do it, it’s as simple as that.

All tutorial subboards will go to one board on mainpage.
So people dont have to look in x subboards to finde and search stuff.

Question is now:

Should I add also topic related tags for the tutor
Like
Tutorial: 3D Modeling
Tutorial: Database

And if what tags would be nice?

As I heard  some people are not happy with some parts of our community. I want to start here a collection thread to make it better. I found it realy surprising that people dont like some stuff.

And because people seam to dislike some parts of the project but dont ask me to make it better, i want to start here and ask you.

What do you want.
What do we need on Modcraft.
What could we do to bring wow modding back again to more activity.

Hope to get much feedback from your side :)

- Structure of the board is bad. Stuff is hard to find. We need to rework it.

- Create a tutorial request board. Perahaps where every request is a poll. So tutorial writers can see what the community needs most.

- Active moderation team controll the rules and help.
- Contests.
- DONE: Merge Showoff boards to one on top layer.
