Give something back!
« on: June 22, 2016, 08:00:44 am »
The development on noggit is going on and all you guys love the new versions.

But it would be very nice if YOU could give some time back and help us to update the manual.
You can access it in the wiki and it is still on sdl 1.2 state.

So I search some people helping here out and with this again support people that are new to the tool and will find a faster way into it.

So lets start ! ?

OK, I'll do it. It would be nice if help (H) board in Noggit itself was updated as well, if it wasn't done so in the newest version yet.

Well, I haven't seen the newest version yet at all, I saw just that released Noggit 3.1021, I'm still downloading lib srcs. But, if this wasn't updated from SDL 1.4 (in fact 1.3) yet, there are definitely missing controls for water editing. To be exact, this:

"Water chunk-by-chunk editor - when you are in the water editing mode you can add water with Shift + Lmouse and remove it with Ctrl + Lmouse. To select some chunks you need you can press Alt + Lmouse, and Alt + Ctrl + Lmouse to deselect them."

And controls for Shader editor. Maybe I'm missing something but hopefully its all.

Manual updated. Although I found some mistypes and even mistakes and uncorrect information in UI and especially in Help window. I've also found couple of functions I dind't even know that they are in Noggit and tbh, most of them either don't work or at least seem to not work at all.

So other users and devs as well, please. Check updated manual, corret mistakes I do in english (sorry about them) and take a look if everything what is there is correct. And especially take a look at that damned Help board and all functions I marked with ? there, please. I've also added key binds which are missing in Help board.

You mean the ? in the sortcut section of the manual?

Yes some functions are out meanwhile but some like SHIFT or ALT plus v works fine. Use it evry day.
For this you need to setup a proper environment like in the tutorial. I will have a look there and update the stuff and the source for this.

Big thanks to you!
