I'm very into it, but I am not technical and its frustrating trying to learn a lot of these things. I would like to hire someone to do it. Or find someone who believes in the project that already has these skills. But at the least, I may need to pay someone to walk me through the first setup of a new zone so I can at least learn it under supervision.

I dont believe the problem was with noggit, when I tried to learn this before I managed to open noggit and delete bootybay. The problem was in all the files and getting everything done. WDts and ADts and everything else.

I my primary goal right now is to clone stranglethorn vale, remove booty bay and a few odds and ends, and rename it and give it a new skybox thats darker and creepy.

Is there anyone willing to help me learn this? I am willing to pay for someone to do it also. Preferably in a way that my team can learn the process from.

correct  - this doesnt make sense to me. lol

I have actually tried to follow that section and a guide on just this before, and it ended up a big confusing mess and I never actually got it to work. Then I met someone who threw up a zone in 20minutes. But that was 2 years ago. I am working on restarting this project due to renewed interest with people but I no longer know how to reach that guy.

Can someone link me to or give me a walkthrough to taking an existing zone in 3.3.5, say, Stranglethorn Vale - and creating a clone which I can edit

* (remove some game objects like npcs and booty bay)
* Change the name of the zone and possibly sub areas as well
* Change the Sky box


I want to take the Stranglethorn vale and turn it into Everquests 'Plane of Fear' for my EverWoW project, but this kind of editing has eluded me in past attempts.

There is a recruitment post viewtopic.php?f=28&t=8833 if anyone is interested in this concept and wants to join us in merging the best elements from both games to create a new kind of WoW server.

EverWoW is an ambitious new project that will take popular elements and even some lore from Everquest to bring exciting new content to the World of Warcraft. This will have all of the usual content of 3.3.5 WOTLK but will be drawing on the Planes of Power expansion of Everquest. (and other Elements of the game) to add exciting new content in the form of a new expansion.

Think 3.3.5 + planes, gods, and epic quests/difficulty.

Most gods/planes are intended as world boss content, not instanced, for added competition.


This is not intended to be a fun server, but we will go the extra mile to be a unique, challenging experience for the kind of player that likes a tough game with quality content. This is really just a sample of whats in store.

So far we have a great system admin and 1 great dev

Some things we are working on and could use more help to speed it up.

New zones (some are fine with modified clones of existing zones, but some should be heavily modified or even new)
Custom Necromancer class (being tested)
Appropriate Scripting of encounters, new NPCS and bosses.
Quest line building, If you're a talented storyteller with the ability to script complete quest lines - you will be very helpful here. Lots of room to create the story following a light guideline for cohesiveness.
Custom patches for new content

I am willing to pay for this project if necessary on a job by job basis, with potential for regular work once its become more popular.
