Development and Presentation / Carnivale Isle [EVENT ISLAND PROJECT]
« on: October 03, 2011, 02:37:48 pm »
Unlike a lot of new, ambitious modders/creators, who start out big, I would like to start small, however create something truly wonderful and perhaps even unique.

My aim, once I am granted access to the latest revision of Noggit, is to create a brand new continent/area, which will be secluded from the rest of the world, in the exact fashion that the GM island is.

Carnivale Isle will be a one of a kind. The idea was conceived when I read about the new Darkmoon Island coming to Cataclysm in 4.3. The isle itself will be a neutral zone (sanctuary), however this is merely a precaution to stop unfair killing. The real fun takes place in front of an audience. The main goal of the island is to allow GM's of what ever server, the ability to host their events, such as 1v1, 2v2 etc, hide and seek and free for all matches on the island, rather than in the same old places across azeroth.

Along with the space provided to freely set up your events, there will also be preset areas, in the main hub of the island, such as custom made carnival games (Assuming I can get them coded properly), combatant style arena with a custom ranking system, which can only be accessed on the island (Ever played TES: Oblivion, and gone to the arena?). And much more.

I hope this little tidbit of information gives everyone a general idea of what I'm trying to produce, and I hope you guys like it. Stay tuned for more information once I start getting it going......(Hopefully :) )

Great, thanks for the tips.

The thread in question for building an independent instance (I think) can be found here:

Hope this helps someone in the future!
