Texturing and 2D Art / [SOLVED] Lighting on textures, ADT bug
« on: December 13, 2013, 09:20:36 pm »
The problem that I have is that the lighting/shadows or brightness on one ADT is way higher than all the others. Thanks to that the same textures become very different in one of the ADTs. I tried out the old trick of doing a 1000 sized brush but it didn't fix it.

I'm using Noggit SDL 1.2

I'm doomed unless I get help with this. I'll be eternaly grateful to whoever manages to solve this with me.

Edit: This is solved!  :) I followed Mjollna's tips.
All you need to do is to use rev.279 and do the brush thing and it gets fixed. Both the shiny lights and the strange texture lines disappear by doing so.

Hey there guys. I'm not really sure what the problem is, but I'm going to post some pics so you guys can identify my problem. As I'm sure someone here knows what this is.
I'm using the latest revision/version of Noggit from the beta tester section.

What I can figure out so far is that the lightning on the ADTs behave strange and shine WAY TOO MUCH when specular lightning is on. There's several other annoying things that happen even though it's off too.

Specular lightning ON:

Specular lightning OFF, I've also got these strange lines and the same textures in different ADTs get different 'darkness' on them. Basically; same texture get different dark which makes it look strange:

Everything looks pretty much perfect in Noggit. What the hell?  :(
But atleast you can see it has something to do with ADTs:

Does anyone here know how to 'fix' this?

Noggit / [QUESTION] ADT bugs
« on: October 09, 2011, 01:17:23 am »
Some few ADTs I've been building on have got this strange bug which makes me 'fall' as soon as I get inside them.
By 'falling' I mean the falling effect you get when jumping outside outland. When you get too far down.

Anyone know how to fix this? I know someone else have had this problem.
I'm using rev263.

Level Design / [QUESTION] M2 deletion
« on: August 16, 2011, 04:16:41 pm »
Hey there. I've got a fairly simple question.

I have no clue how I should delete all the M2's in one ADT.
I've been trying to do it with Cryect tools but they only corrupt my ADTs, I've tried with several different ADTs and I've tried it several times, I've done it correctly but it still corrupts them.
(After all, Cryects tools are quite old....)
Quote from Steff: "the tools from cryect are over 4 years old and totaly outdated. Dont know why onyone use it in this form."

So is there any other way I can get the M2's deleted out of the ADTs?
Would be glad if someone could help me out. Cheers.  :ucheers:

Edit:

Would be awesome if someone could help me out. If your Cryect tools works, fantastic, then you can actually help me. Because if you're willing to, I can send you my ADTs and you can delete the M2's on it. I would like to get rid of all objects on those ADTs. So it's quite simple, and it would be done in about 5 minutes. So I would be really glad if someone could help me out. You would save my day.

Noggit / [BUG] Isle of Quel'danas, Crash
« on: August 12, 2011, 12:54:36 am »
I've been bothered by the fact that in every Noggit version, we haven't been able to access the whole isle of Quel'danas. (The place over Silvermoon, where Sunwell Plateau is.)
It seems like one or two ADTs in Quel'danas is making Noggit to crash.
Try it yourself if you haven't, take 30 seconds of your time and load the zone. And you'll see it crashes.

Have anyone solved this problem? I would really like to access the zone, but it seems impossible with Noggit right now.  :x

Noggit / [SOLVED] Noggit B19 problem
« on: July 27, 2011, 10:23:52 pm »
I've got this very strange M2 problem with B19.
B19 have worked perfect for a long time now, which have made me very happy, but now suddenly I've got this new bug annoying me.
I started up noggit and went to my place where I was building. And I realised that in one of the ADTs I was building in all the M2's were gone. But the WMO's and the ground changes + textures was still there. I was annoyed by this, a lot. So I kept on building in other ADT's.
Then the day after, today, I went to the same place and all the M2's where there. So I though I would make a backup of the files, so I closed down noggit and copy pasted the files into a backup folder. Then I started up noggit again and the M2's where gone. -_-
So the M2's might be there, but they're hiding from me and noggit. I'm not sure what this problem might be, but it's a bit strange. o_o
Would be glad if Steff or someone else could reply and see if they've got any idea what this might be.

*Edit*
The M2's appeared once again. I'll see if they disipear again. :[
Yep, they did disipear again.
-
I made a patch out of it, and all the M2's are there. But I still can't see them in Noggit. Like I said, it's like they're hiding from me.

Magically works once again. I guess the problem is solved.

Level Design / [BUG] M2s keep duplicating themselfes
« on: June 09, 2011, 08:20:03 pm »
Hey there. My world building have been slowed down a lot by this bug, and I want it gone.
I'm trying to build on my custom continent, but some of my M2s keep duplicating themselfes.
Each time I save the ADT they duplicate, and sometimes they end up to be over a thousand of them at the same place. (Which causes my FPS to go down to 5...)
It have actually only happened (so far, if I'm correct) to silvermoon trees, and I think, blood elf trees in general. And what's so strange about this is that it's only happening in some ADTs and not all ADTs that I'm working on.

So I'm really curious on what I can do to stop them from duplicating. I can allways remove the damn trees by using Cryects tools. But they keep comming back, and it's QUITE ANNOYING to constanly delete them. Because it takes a lot of time, and it's annoying too...
