[QUESTION] Change helmet size
« on: February 22, 2015, 06:32:52 am »
Hello,

I'm pretty sure it has been asked before, but I can't find the topic.

I've made a mod for Human male to female.
It looks good, but the helmet is too big!

I've managed to change its position by moving the attachment #11.
But how do I change its size? Blender? 010 Editor? DBC?

Thanks.

But I've got a crash when I try to open the Bloodelf .m2 file.

I use Windows 8.1 x64.
I've tried with compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3, same result...

Yes mine also prompts an error whenever i go to animations, +1 Phucko please answer this

But it works for static models and I'm guessing you just have to resize the helm geoset size maybe you dont even need to go to animations

EDIT: and Vesageough you know you have to change the M2 model before opening it in MDLVIS, it only opens burning crusade models by default for later versions it has to be modified, so anyway hope someone clears this up I would like to know details too

Ok thanks, I'll look in 010 Editor.

There is no way to do this in Blender?
By the way, as I've updated M2Mod ans import/export plugin, I could give a try at importing more info in Blender, if necessary.

Export the .m2 as a .obj (through WOW Model Viewer would be easy).  Resize in Blender.  Convert from .obj to .m2.  ???  Profit?

Takes like two minutes.

You mean, the helmet model or the player model?

ohh my .........

Just find Bone that is used as pivot to load Helmet model and change scale of that exact bone
beacuse that same method was used for Female models since shoulders are only 50% of theyr real scale on females one so just resize that bone for helmet in 010 structure of armature

Thanks.

I use the template M2.5. I suppose it is in the .m2 file?
I go to bone 200 then to scaling, but when I go to Values, it is empty.
Am I in the good spot?

@Ohai
MDLVIS for this ? wtf ?
1. you cant know what version of wow is he editing and MDLVIs works only with " WOTLK < "
2.  As i said MDLVIs is only " WOTLK < " FOR M2 he can edit MDL/MDX etc ... but wtf ? how you want to transfere that M2 model to one of them without damage ?
3. forget about MDLVIs for this its useless

@Vesageough ? how should i know ? in HuM is like 230 bones +/- .... M2I is similiar to you so use it to figure out which bone is used to lead Helmets and try to rescale it ?

i dont know exactly what you want to edit i just know the method this was never about exact numbers or PRO tools its developing here you need to THINK  ... now go and fight
I'll be glad if you will return with positive results
