Modelling and Animation / Re: [Question] HoTS into WoW
« on: May 17, 2016, 12:56:36 pm »
He doesn't know how to export human model and import it with bones and animations.

then after this, he needs to weight paint each limb to the corresponding animation of the human model etc etc.

welll i dont think there really is a tutorial other than this viewtopic.php?f=20&t=9095

u need to use correct tools and correct models, the video is only there to give you an idea how to export the human model and what to do with it

With your edited exe, things load from the root folder. For example:

World of WarcraftDBFilesClientSomeDBC.dbc

And yes, most file references, reference the ID in FileData.dbc now.

Ye but how do I assign it a new display id? And where do I put my texture paths etc, this is the problem :D

For BLP's I like to use Blipster, there is quite literally a whole button for character textures.
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/i ... ility.html

And for WoD, you have to edit your exes with one of these edits for the right version your exe is:

Yes I have that .exe, Problem isn't that, it's that I don't know how to import it into WoD. On MoP you used creaturemodeldata.dbc and creaturedisplayinfo.dbc, but how about WoD? What do you use here now when everything is smashed together in Filedata.dbc? And the db2 is strings only :/

Soo, I just finally got my model from HoTS working after a while. Now I have two issues, since I used the Human_HD model and it has hardcoded textures I changed all the 3 textures in 010 editor for it too look into the DBC instead but for some reason the model is still pure White and texture doesn't want to load. I converted it to blp with the /R extension. I did this since I want to create a separate model than replacing..

Also second issue, I want to put it into WoD, I know how to do it on earlier expansions but it seems like they changed the DBC's and now I don't know how to do this :(

Set

RenderFlags.blendingmode = 1
RenderFlags.flag = 4

Thank you very much ))

Also OP to get hands working, redo the actual hands and re-position the bones so it matches how it would look on the original WoW model.

also use better render flags back side of your faces is transparent

I have this as well, care to show me the way on how to fix this? Any tuts you know of?

I've noticed the hands as well but how about different stuff like robes etc? For me they don't seem to show up at all. For example the libram is gone in-game. have you encountered this as well? I managed to get it into the game if I weightpainted it all but do I really have to lol? Even non animated stuff?

beacuse model from heroes converted to SC2 isnt working for SC2 blender IO scripts
and since i dont know structure of SC2 m3 i cant tell where is problem but this is not for 1st time when i meet problem about intern problems with structure itself ...

Honestly don't waste your time trying to convert through blender, you'll save a bunch of time doing it through 3ds max then export as fbx. All bones will export so all you really have to do is rename and weight paint. Or I might have mistaken everything and you are trying to do something else... either way :D

Looks great :)

Also some new cool skins on the PTR as well, if you want em.

I also got to ask, does all your animation work for you? I'm having problems with emotes such as dances and some other things :/

Make sure you have all .ani files from the mode your base model and make sure the .ani files names match your new model.

I'd make a tutorial but this subject is more intermediate level so it would need to be an in-depth tutorial....

Maybe when I come back from my trip to Japan I will make some time and make a video tutorial explaining how I do it/used to do it since now I made a little shortcut for myself for mass producing animated models.

Interesting, I'll try that tomorrow. And yes you are right, it's actually hard, not for beginners. But thanks for the info.

There is also one other issue I've noticed is this: http://i.imgur.com/A6Snvf2.png http://i.imgur.com/h2SQ6OL.png

If you or OP has encountered this problem before and have fixed it, any info would help me as this has left me  clueless after 2 days lol. Not sure how it can screw up this bad really. Didn't link the hands into anything either so... Or maybe this would also be solved by fixing all the .anim files? I honestly don't know, will try tomorrow evening.

Also know that any kind of vid, be it tutorial or "vlog" would be greatly appreciated by everyone here I think. I know your WoD model guide surely did :D
