UV mapping problem? lots of pictures inside! ^^
« on: October 26, 2012, 07:24:07 pm »
hello modcraft users, I'm here today to ask you some questions please:

A)
I'm modelling a sphere that has to have 2 different textures in it, I could get both from just 1 texture but then I have this problem

(wich is that those lines created over there, marked with the purple colour, are making my model look with those black lines between the white colour and the green one in the second picture)

B)
and then... if I use 2 textures (and 2 Geosests, 1 for each texture) I've got the problem of the light... you can't see that light in WoW model Viewer, but you can in MDLvis and wow

look the different green colours.... that is the problem of the light, sometimes one geoset is darker than the other and sometimes is the opposite.

So what could I do, please? I have been like more than 5hours from now, looking for any thread saying how to fix that.. but I hadn't find it, not for the light problem neither for those white lines of the purple colour picture (first one)

Thanks a lot

A) you can create own(independent) UV map for any vertice use  [compress vertex] funtion.
Not [to combine vertex]  and copy+paste function

B) yes..  in mdlvis fucking generation of the normals, For each Geoset (mesh) normals generated separately.

From xgm.ru have one guy who created CMD tool for "single calculation of the normals for all geosets"

But this tool works not entirely correct.
Maybe soon our team will write its own "Normals generator".
