which names are considered internal, the ADTs and BLPS? or is it lines in the .dbc files?

yeah, it seemed to be fine, but it's something with the GM Island that just doesn't wanna be changed for some reason.

quick question, im in the process of adding in the lines into the md5translate
my zone is called "The Final Frontier" so when i type it into the file, do i use spaces?

examples:

dir: The Final Frontier
The Final Frontier/The Final Frontier_5_5.blp *tab* The Final Frontier0505.blp
---or---
dir: TheFinalFrontier
TheFinalFrontier/TheFinalFrontier_5_5.blp *tab* TheFinalFrontier0505.blp

spaces or no spaces?

had some time tonight to patch that WDT, but it didnt work. the island ADTs were invisible in-game. i put it in the middle of a flat area that i didnt work on yet, and there was a big empty square where it should be.

i'm going to just leave this alone then, keep the files as something to look at in noggit when im bored i guess. it's not really something i needed to put into my map, but it would've been cool.

if someone knows a way that'll 100% work i'd appreciate it, but i'm not going to take time "trying" stuff, lol.

Steff everytime someone uses Blizz maps you refer them not to use those because they crash most of the time.

alright, futa doesn't work as well as i thought it would. it copied the heightmap and textures fine..but only on 1 of noggit's red squares (it only copied 1 tile, not the whole ADT)

i just tried riu's zone masher, and so far it seems to be great. my WDT loaded in noggit with no missing pieces after merging my gmisland into my continent.

i always get sidetracked and look at M2's to maybe use, or try to do 3 things at once and everything takes me 2x longer that it should lol.
going to take a break for now and i'll patch the new WDT and try it out later today.

i'm hoping that nothing crashes when i turn on my server and try it later.  :?

ok im not exactly sure, but nothing is happening when i click export on the textures in futa. dont know why?

it seems i can save a heightmap at least. gonna go ahead and see if the heightmap imports.
if i cant get textures to export/import, thats okay. texturing takes a long time but its the easier part if you ask me lol.

ill try out that rius zone masher thing soon, and see if it does the trick.

Noggit / [SOLVED] a way to copy my zone to a fresh tile?
« on: May 30, 2013, 12:06:16 am »
a while ago i remade GM Island and i was annoyed to find out i cant change gmisland without the game crashing.

so i turned to other zones and stuff for me and my friends to play in, and now decided to come back to this.

is there any way to copy the ground height to a new tile? i dont want to remake it from the start.
i dont know what its name is, but so i dont have to spend 5+ hours remaking with the raise/lower tool.

ive spend some time now with making new zones/tiles, but i'd like to be able to just copy my gmisland to one of them.

Noggit / Re: crashing when going to my re-done zone

actually, i have another question.

before i start retexturing...how can i fix these shadows from previous models?

those shadows are from trees that used to be on GM island before i deleted them.

Noggit / crashing when going to my re-done zone
« on: March 24, 2013, 08:10:22 am »
i re-created GM Island and then used All-Water to replace the water. but when i teleport there i get a crash.

i think i used a WOTLK grass texture, could that be whats doing it? i deleted all the trees/buildings but still crash when i   ".port GMIsland"

i really know know why it would be crashing for GMIsland. i've re-done 6 zones from azeroth but i only crash when i teleport to GMIsland.

EDIT -- noticed that someone else had this same problem. ill just re-texture GMIsland with elwynn forest textures or something that was from vanilla.

(just take out spaces, couldn't post a full link)

ill try the clear textures thing

EDIT - clear textures just erased half of the zone. is there a way to do it for a smaller spot?

Noggit / Re: [QUESTION] why is Noggit not saving my work?
« on: February 16, 2013, 10:23:10 am »
just tried saving again and it finally crashed........

i checked the folder and it saved 1 block, 28_48. the main part of my edit is gone, but oh well...

EDIT - seems to be saving now. i guess it was just having problems from being on for 10+ hours. i'll make sure i save and close/open the program more often, i guess.

yes, i mentioned that, it's empty.

when i first installed Noggit it saved fine, i never changed the noggit.conf save path, so i don't know why nothing is showing up in that folder anymore.

Noggit / [QUESTION] why is Noggit not saving my work?
« on: February 16, 2013, 09:20:10 am »
yesterday morning i spent about 8 hours editing the small area south of Ahn'Qiraj (terrain and textures mainly). i wanted to take a break and could not save, or at least i don't think it was saving. so i left noggit running and just went to bed from a headache.

my ..\3.3.5 Noggitworldmaps folder is empty, and i'm not sure what is going on. when i click "CTRL + S Save All" in Noggit nothing happens.

am i ignoring something important? i don't know why it doesn't want to save.
