Open it with noggit. Save. No water.

Then do allwater.

I wish people could be more noob-friendly around here. No offense, but the OP only has 1 post you know. Anyways, what DK meant to say is that you must first open the ADT with Noggit and Save It. Whenever you save an ADT in Noggit, all of the water will automatically be removed.

If you would like to replace the water that you deleted then you will have to use the following tool on your ADT:

AllWater WotLK - viewtopic.php?f=59&t=554

As he just wants to remove the water i think DKs tip was good. Just resave in noggit. If he did noit understand he can ask again :)
I had not posted more.

If you dont know hot to get noggit to run then just do the modcraft tutorial series.

I understood what Mr. DK said just fine, but a new person might not. Saying "Save. No water." does not make any sense in the English language. Is "No water" meant to be an option when you save or what? That's what it sounds like he's saying. If I were still a noob to Noggit I would have no idea what that means.

Also, the OP asked only how to remove water, not how to replace it. Mr. DK told him to use AllWater after saving with Noggit, but he didn't specify that it was an extra step non-related to the actual question. You do not need to use AllWater to get rid of water, but that's what it sounds like he is suggesting. If I were the OP, I would then go on a wild goose chase with this AllWater tool only to find out later on that you do not actually need it to remove water.

Although I don't mean to cause any fuss I'm just explaining myself. When I was a noob first coming to the Modcraft community it was a struggle for me because everyone spoke in non-specific choppy English, using techy words that I didn't understand yet. Like "use hex editor". What the heck is that supposed to mean? Even if you Google "Hex Editor" you won't find 010 Editor, you'll find things like HxD instead. And of course, you can always just ask again what they mean, but eventually it gets kinda scary to do that. Because many people in the Modcraft community respond very rudely to questions, and it eventually makes you feel stupid. inferior, and unwanted. I love this community to death, but it is far from loving and understanding.

Really though I'm not complaining much. I'm just making an effort to better treat new individuals. Now that I have the knowledge required to help people, I like to do so in a fashion that is easy to understand and doesn't waste their time. I know waiting hours for someone to respond to your really important post is a killer sometimes. And when they respond vaguely and you must then ask again, well that's just wasting another 5-10 hours of your life.

Now this is going a bit out of hand though. Never meant for this to hijack wsting's thread. Basically Mr. DK has already explained himself, and I have seen his other posts as well. He is far from incompetent and I meant no hard feelings whatsoever. I just think we as tech supporters should be more sensitive to the needs and skill levels of newcomers seeking help. That is all and I think that is a very reasonable goal.

I use the term hex editor, as it does not make any difference wether you use 010 editor, vim, HxD, 0xed, emacs, notepad++ or cat. The only missing information is what to edit. Thus the complaint here should be missing a link to the wow.dev wiki.
