It is a different thing to link a tutorial or help post then link to an "I offer paid work post" becaus i am not willing to just copy it over. And as you can see on the reaction there. Most boards even dont want any link to other sites.

I never deleted this post. And now you tell the community I dont allow links to your site.
You try to use everything you can to flame

It would be so nice if people would just use this wasted energy and invest it into wod and leagion research and helping project to get done.

As a matter of fact the shoutbox was taken away deliberately according to you just the other day.
I don't want to be a cunt and you know that, but these bad shit excuses help no one.

Thats just not true :) as many things people just lie the last days.

From internal board:

Quote
Hallo,
schön, dass es schon ein Thema dazu gibt.
Erstmal von Montag, ca. 1730

Quote:Hallo Herr zax,

http://all-inkl.com/webhosting/verbotenes/

Ich bitte Sie diese Software umgehend vom Server zu entfernen und sich kurz über den Stand der Dinge bei uns zu melden.

This text was send to zax the administrator of the root and tells that the chat script creates access overload and they turned it off by change the rights. Some days later we added the IRC chat as an laternative but people dont liked it. We can just turn the box on again if we are on the new root server.

In your message you said ANY link if it helps people. Don't you think that maps Amaroth sells can be actually useful and help other people who look for that? Probably not. Still double standarts.
And one a side note, the flame here is not initiated by me. I just can't resist saying my opinion.
Also don't tell me how to manage my time. I spend enough time to do what I can for moving modding forward. I write tutorials, make scripts and maintain the community with Milly.

Yes I think so. Money and wow modding dont fit for me. And a 5 line post is not the same as an tutorial i have to maintain. If it is not to much I just post it there. What all people can

explanation please. I help everyone I can to get started. Thats why I did the tutorial to get people fast up and running and protect them to avoid the common problems you can run into. I even do often temaviewer session to setup environment for beginners.
I do the same. Sadly, quite a lot of people don't read those tutorials, at least not whole. I am not sure if that can ever be changed. But truth is that shoutbox can be much quicker and easier for asking questions, rather than starting tons of new topics.

EDIT:

But for some modders they do and I don't think you should make such decision for them. Deleting payed jobs offers "just because you don't like it" is pretty terrible reason. Would you also delete all edits adding anime content into WoW in case you didn't like anime? No? So don't do it even here. Skarn's mentioned double standarts are actually very well aimed this time. Or if you would, then maybe I should not have not given you any apologies at all.

I find it funny that you say: if we are on the new root server.
A.K.A it will never happen.

Yes that is true. A shoutbox is nice. We are not allowed to run it so we created the IRC as an alternative.

I really could not care less to be honest.
You clearly stated several times that the shoutbox is gone because you want people to create threads, so that people can find those in the future.
Either you were lying then or now. And I don't care about your pms with german staff which maybe 20% of the people here actually understand.

I have writen that I think that this is the better way and that I am not motivated to spend time in an other solution then I did already with the IRC box, if no one else wants to do it.

That is no PM that is the mail from the german server provider.

Using the new site would be a really good solution to the shout box problem...

There was a post about it:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4206

Where zax also hase written it.

@XxXGenesisXxX
Due to technical problems concerning this webserver, the shoutbox had to be removed. There may or may not be an alternative solution in future, depending on wether the former issue can or cannot be avoided.
As for now you guys may use the IRC-Channel provided by the staff.

@stoneharry
Probably can't do. After some huge server load (most likely shoutbox related) my webserver was shut down for some time and i was informed by the provider that I don't have the permission to run scripts just like the shoutbox.
So I presented some alternative solutions and you may add your 2 cents if you like. At the end it is up to the other staff what will be done.

also the game

Quote from: "Skarn"
Смердокрыл, there is so much more about modding than just doing it. We need more attention to the scene, more activity and interested programmers who want to develop tools. There is almost no interested programmers here. Maybe a 2-3 guys. We need to catch up with recent expansions and whatnot. <...>
Well, then shouldn't this "omg what's happening to modding" discussion be about that, rather than which wesite is better?

Quote from: "Steff"
Modcraft is a community. Help is offerd by members. So if you dont get an answer it is the fault of the people running Modcraft?
That's not what I meant. What I meant is (as I just answered to Skarn above) that arguing about websites is a waste of time, which could be spent on more useful things, like answering questions.

Quote from: "Steff"
In the moment Magnus offerd help and work on moving the site to his already existing root server. We also have some time several top level domains to get away from the superparanoid thing. Then we can also activate again the shoutbox. It is not gone becaus we dont wnted it. The hoster just turned it off becaus it created to much traffic
When all that (and maybe some additions, like the "projects" thing on mc.net) is done/fixed, Modcraft will possibly be the website mc.net is trying to be, or even better.

Quote from: "Steff"
I NEVER got an offer that some one wants to help making the site better.
If that is true then it's sad. And it would prove people often just want to lead that to help.

Quote from: "Steff"
[paragraph:1aomy69k]The newcomers are just scared away.[/paragraph:1aomy69k]

explanation please. I help everyone I can to get started. Thats why I did the tutorial to get people fast up and running and protect them to avoid the common problems you can run into. I even do often temaviewer session to setup environment for beginners.
I meant that the design of mc.net is kind of more friendly than modcraft. Generally the "forum-only" websites often feel like a closed unwelcoming community. I mean, you open the website and the first thing you see is people talking to each other about something you don't understand at all. No greeting posts, no proper explanations what the website is about.

Btw steff if you really cared then you wouldn't think that fixing the shoutbox Is too much work.
Just my humble opinion buddy.
The new site is better in any way, you can just deny it but it is the truth, period.
