[BUG] textures noggit/ingame
« on: February 22, 2011, 12:32:07 am »
Hi again =P

So yea i was texturing my map, everything in noggit looks fine but when i get ingame allllllll the floor is like flash green pretty much like "THAT"

I tried opening the adt, and saving it with Taliis, i tried reloading in noggit and re-saving, i also tried "offsetfix" again ...just to make sure. And i cleared all MCRF also to make sure.

Floor is still green ingame.

Thanks for help again =)

edit:

so yea i searched a bit more on the forum and saw the "spectacular lighting" that i should turn off to see the correct texture ingame... which palette can we use to avoid that texture problem?

Turn off the lighting effects and restart the client.

Jup it is the specular lightning.
If you take a look into the folder of the tilesets you wont just find for example elwynngrass.blp , you will also find a texture that is called elwynngrass_s.blp . Those are the specular blps. If you extract them and convert them, you can see that they are alpha maps, which means that they don't have full opacity.
If you are using self created tilesets you will need to create a another blp with the samefilename but _s in it on the end.
To extract the highlights of a image you can simply use photoshop for that. With the right filter you'll have the highlights extracted in no time and you got a nice wonderfull looking specular lightning ingame.
