In WoD when you change the faces it changes the actual shape of the face instead of just textures. Is this possible in WOTLK? I'm not sure what you're talking the faces don't change at all.
The magic of textures just makes it look that way....
There's only 1 face mesh, the undead are the only ones with more then 1 face mesh but that's for their lower jaws.
They do, but the face changes are rather minor. Take for example, these 3 gnome faces on live - their chin, nose and eyebrow height change, albeit minorly:

Finally, as much as the Gods above forgive it, I have finished a Human Female Warlords of Draenor Model with no melted face, no (so far) broken animations and a glorious new HD model. Thankyou so much for this tutorial, now finishing off with the melted-texture ones and moving onto harder HD models.

Okay, so, using your very handy guide, I managed to get a Night Elf Female model into the Wrath of the Lich King (3.3.5a) Client. Howeeeever, the process of travelling back in time melted my Night Elf's face and have nooo clue how to fix it: I removed the '_HD' from the BLPs, put them back again when that failed, tried mixing stuff around a bit but to no avail. Send help.

Just curious, but what would have to be done to these models to make them work in Cataclysm?

Where did you download these maps? Did it come in a patch, if so, did the MPQ have DBC files with it? If it hasn't got any of these, you're probably going to have to set the coordinates yourself.

So, uh, I had a crack at getting the goblin female into my 3.3.5a Private Server for the Gnome Female. Everything went smoothly, most animations worked and all the textures appeared. HOWEVER, due to their more expansive customization (where you can change their chin, mouth and nose) it seems that they all just...uh...didn't appear, so now my beautiful goblins have a gaping void where their chin and nose are (the ears seem to have made it).
Any...uh 'fixes' for this, or is my goblin stuck wishing she put makeup on this morning?
