Hey

So I was watching a few cata videos of the Isle of Kezan and thought that I wanted to make my own version of it. So I began working on it today!

-Day 1-

About 1/3 of the island textured, a small piece is shaped, there are no objects yet.
Don't tell me that the ground doesn't look good to the road or that the mountains aren't that good yet, cause as I said, it's still under development.

-Day 2-

I wasn't able to do that much today since our German relatives are coming over to visit us and they will be here until Saturday night, but I'll try to continue as much as I can.
Textured both sides of the mountain, fixed the shape of the sides a little bit + textured it. I also raised the land next to the road to give it more of a realistic effect, it might not be that easy to see in these pics but I hope it is!

Showoff - what you are working on / [Showoff] Untitled custom island

Hey

I was bored and well.. I made the ol' classic: an island.
I mainly used sholazar objects and textures for this one. It was made in about 4-6h, i don't exactly recall...

BEFORE you watch the screenshots I'd like to apologize about one and another thing with them:

-Sorry I couldn't get in-game screenshots but wow screenshot function was fucking up, so, meh
-Sorry the rendering isn't that great on some of the pics, had to use Noggit with a pretty bad rendering comp.
-It looks way better in-game cause it has groundeffects attached to it there which won't show in Noggit, it makes it look much more filled and alive, which it really isn't on these pics.
-Sorry about the lightning. Noggit doesn't have very good lightning :|
-And then noggit doesnt show water, which i actually added

Anyway, here comes the pics.

Hey

So, I'm Herb, I've been World building for about a year now or something about that,  but I want to expand in WoW modding.

I've recently taken a look at the Modelling & Animation section and I've been very impressed with all of the models and such that has been made here and I thought "Hey, what if I could make those things too?"
So, I'm basically asking one of you great people 'round here to spare some time to teach me how to do all this. I'd be forever grateful!

Level Design / Shadows of objects are still there.

Hey

So i recently started an edit which required me to take away objects and add new one using Cryect's.
Now it shows out that the shadows of the old objects are still there and I have no clue on how to remove them. I know it is possible with Taliis, but mixing Taliis+Cryects=Corrupt ADT.

Anyone has an idea?

Miscellaneous / Skeleton's chest and shirt

Hey

So when I design a Skeleton or a Northrendskeleton in WoWModelViewer, the chest and shirt items just applies for the backbone and it doesn't cover the ribs.
Any ideas to make it cover the ribs and everything, so you don't see the skeleton parts under?
I assume it's the same if I would make it a new race.

Miscellaneous / [QUESTION] Extremely new custom races

Hey

So I were wondering.
I've read the guide on how to add custom races by Khira, but those are only races existing in the current DBC files. There are way many other races such as Murlocs for example, but they don't show the gears you're wielding.
So basically what I'm wondering is:

Is it possible to edit so that something such as a Murloc or any other creature shows gears and then be able to pick between many different skins/hairstyles, etc?

Recruitment / [Recruitment] Project: South Seas

Gday

While I were in Italy this summer I thought of something to create when I came back home.
Several ideas zoomed through my mind until I stopped at the thought of the South Seas.

For those of you who do not know much of the South Seas, check out the linked page along with the different islands listed there.

An example of an Island is Morza/Gillijim's Isle, an Island south of Stranglethorn Vale which is inhabited by Jungle Trolls.
Another example is The Isle of Kezan, where the Goblins from Cataclysm reside until they end up at the Lost Isles, also a couple of small Islands in the South Seas.

Now what I need for this project will be:
A DBC Editor
World Builder
Eventually: Quest/NPC Creator
Eventually: Core Developer
Eventually: Item modeller

REQUIREMENTS~

*Knowledge of the World of Warcraft MPQ and DBC files and knowledge on how to edit most of them.
*A computer that can handle different WoW building programs, such as Noggit, Yias, WoWME, Wmv, MWCS, etc. Knowledge of the programs used. (Pictures must be sent in to show your skills.)
*Good knowledge of ArcEmu/Trinity/MaNGOS quest and quest features.
*This is if we would create a server out of this. You must know how to code either Arcemu, Trinity or MaNGOS and know how to fix different core bugs and how to develope further. Something preferred would be to compile our very own, something similar to ArcEmu - but not ArcEmu.
*Good knowledge of weapon designing, creation and importing. Pictures will be required.

FUTURE PLANS (?):
I'm thinking of making a server out of this, I am not sure though. Other wise we could sell this to another, coming, DEDICATED server. Yes, I know that selling it would be Illegal, but no one has to know, right?
Or we will just give it away, I dunno...

If we should create a server out of it, we will need different sorts of programmers, game masters, mods, etc, etc, etc.
