[spoiler:12p4rxpu]NOBLE CORRUPTION
Prologue

"Hadrian," said King Varian with a serious tone,
"You are to be in charge of the city in my absence. I do not know how long I will be gone, but I expect there to be no major changes.. at all."
An evil grin grew on Hadrian's face, but Varian did not seem to notice it.
"You and the rest of the House of Nobles are to watch over my kingdom and ensure that it is peaceful and well-fortified. Keep the laws of Stormwind as they are." added Varian.
"Yes your majesty.. I shall ensure Stormwind and her citizens safe from harm." responded Hadrian.
Varian nodded and slowly strolled onto the ship that awaited him. Hadrian watched him - a true king, travelling back into the frozen north to make armistice with a bloodthirsty clan of fierce vrykul. A true king, one who would sacrifice the vigil and defense of his kingdom to a corrupt nobleman to make peace and restore order to the Alliance. A true king who just made a terrible mistake.

Chapter I - Fall of Order

It was not long until Hadrian decided to change the laws of the kingdom. He would ban harmless proffesions such as Herbalism and Alchemy. He would strip the citizens of Stormwind from their privacy and freedom, and turn them into machines to rebuild the kingdom's lost lands. Many turned against Hadrian and his fellow nobles under him. Many began to reform old syndicates and rekindle the heart of the Veiled Connection - a coalition of criminal gangs and cartels from around the world. It was not long until riots began in the streets of Stormwind City. The Stockade was overloaded with such a capacity of prisoners that the Nobles decided to reopen the Stormwind Vault. All of a sudden a great evil seemed to incite a secret fear within the minds of the people, and slowly they would find themselves descending into a life of endless search for the truth - until they were faced with two choices - to either work for the Nobles or to rebel against them. Hadrian had betrayed his own king, who was occupied in Northrend. Many citizens tried to contact Varian, but reports of hooded assassins clad with leather darker than the blackest darkness having intercepted and destroying these citizens came to the front door of the Nobles' stronghold. They were obviously going to ignore everything - assassinated citizens, changed laws, unneeded renovations. The Nobles did not care. Henceforth.. came the fall of all order in Stormwind.

Chapter II - The Onyx Council

In previous years, the great Defias Brotherhood proved as a great threat to the House of Nobles and even Stormwind itself. However, only three months ago, word was sent to Gryan Stoutmantle concerning the death of Edwin VanCleef. The word was true. Five heroes, courageous and powerful, literally -gave- the severed head of the master thief to Stoutmantle. Everyone believed that the Defias had truly died, once and for all. However, following the rekindling of the Veiled Connection, a man who called himself  'Thred' contacted Crasen Elibane, the leader of the Connection, regarding the Defias' Brotherhood and the Syndicate of Lordaeron. The Syndicate had been reduced to one stronghold - Strahnbrad. Bazil Thredd, whom was imprisoned for years, broke out of the Stockade only to find that the Brotherhood had all but dispersed. He gathered as many remnants as he could find and set forth to Strahnbrad. There he met with Lord Falconcrest, and it was not long before the two had become one - the Defiant Brothers' Syndicate, otherwise known as Vermilion, had been formed and had joined the Veiled Connection. Bazil Thredd and Lord Falconcrest became the first two members of the official Onyx Council, the ruling body of the Veiled Connection.

Then there was the Vovos gang, lead by Leonetti Vovardo and his sly wife, Maria. After the Defias had disappeared from Stormwind, the Vovos gang seemed to have taken their place. Already, this gang of thugs and bandits have invaded and captured a watchtower and an important trading dock. When the Veiled Connection's greatest trader, Alacer Ferrum, began to trade with the Vovos gang, Leonetti instantly questioned the man about who he works for and where he got his supplies from. This fateful inquisition lead to Leonetti and Maria becoming members of the Onyx Council.

The people of Watership do not forget Captain Danté, the leader of the great Seafarer's Union. He united the separated pirate crews of the Blackwater, Bloodsail and Southship in times of great hardship. He has now devoted his service to the Veiled Connection, and has now become a member of the Onyx Council.

The shady leader of the Veiled Connection is Crasen Elibane, a clandestine brigand whom takes residence in Watership. He controls the whole connection. All those who join the Vovos gang, or the Vermilion, or the Seafarer's Union must also join the Veiled Connection and pledge allegiance to Crasen. Thus, are the members of the Onyx Council and the coalitions they govern, the true agents of the rebellion, working tirelessly to give the people of Stormwind their freedom and free them from the tyrannical reign of the House of Nobles.[/spoiler:12p4rxpu]

Chapter II will be written soon. This is just an intro to one of my project's racial lorestories.
