Dark Kingdom-The Wither's Peak
« on: February 10, 2015, 10:55:02 pm »
Hey Modcrafters, I wanted to show you my newly started project, The Wither's Peak is a part of the world I am creating. I've paid much more attention on texturing, especially mountains, I haven't worked very much on grass textures cuz I wanted as much of groundeffect doodads spawned -  and they wouldn't spawn on low opacity texture. And i wanted to know your opinion for this project...

Great job. Grass texture looks fine, don't worry about it.

You should get rid of that happy, sunny and blue skybox though.

Yes, Barov you're very right but the reason for that is that its still not finished, and i thought that setting a dark enviroment would hide the details, I wanted to show you all the stuff I've done there and to know If I have done it right.  But next time I'll be setting skybox and the enviroment for sure.
Thanks Again for these comments.... :D

These images are taken in Cataclysm 4.0.6a

,
I couldn't figure out a better way to prove I was in cataclysm so I spawned some Firehawks.

Thanks a ton to Bardh for allowing me to get a copy of his map files so I could further along my research in going from noggit to Cataclysm and possibly to MoP.  I know this has been done by others already, I just wanted a crack at it myself.  I still have loads of research to do but anyway here's my images, it just has more grass for the most part lol.

THanks again to Bardh!!... Now I'm going to bed!. Goodnight people!

Looks really nice. I think some of the circular patches of stone on the mountains all look the same / too many.

You're right Domminust, some of them really look the same but i wouldn't agree that too many of them look the same, I've tried to make the textures fit the terrain and sometimes it didn't go really well, maybe because in some parts I didn't have an idea what it would look like, and sometimes i used to get very sharp edges with raising tool and i had to change the shape, but anyway thanks.

I love the house in the peak, it looks creepy... Objects are set very correct and the texture around the house is amazing, but outside the house area i would say bushes are terrible! I've told you to keep an eye on bushes, but you never listen to me! I know i should support you as a brother but, bad is just...bad, so next time let me do the job on bushes and you work on textures.
