Yeah, they did cut it out.. Lol.

I agree with Steff, Java is somewhat pointless if you can use C++ well. I suppose Java is easier to learn?

But Java stuck in movement some years ago. c# .net ist the same in Microsoft blue and includes curent technologies and is developed active. Also you get a free great IDE with full GUI editor.
And if you think you need it for all OS you can just stay on 2.0 and use mono.

reinvent the wheel < I dont find anything in java or .net that is not also there in c++ in some lib like boost or qt.

EDIT:
Irony that they "check" .net on Mac :p ?

Steff, you know as well as I that C# COMES from C++. Java, I dunno about. But anyway, so obviously anything you can do in C#, you can also do in C++. The wonder about C# is that its much more understandable, while still allowing a PRETTY wide variety of programming.

Thanks
Keta

No c# hase nothing to do with c++ beside the name.

c# is one of the .net framework languages and produce the same target code as VB.net.  c++/CLI or F#. It is the same concept as Java, only that the development don´t stuck because of selling companys :)

There was even a law fight between Microsoft and Sun because MS direct implemented the Java system but fork it then and change many stuff what went against the platform independence.

Java get again pushed since Oracle takeover un. We will see what the future brings. :)

Haha, nice video. Even though I hate developing in Java with all my heart. ^^
But I think when it comes to programming languages we will never find one that everybody likes. ;)
I for example love C#. Mainly because it's so nice and easy to read and got an awesome ide. C++ and Obj-C with all their asterisks and arrows and stuff always look so... chaotic to me. XD
But it's just a matter of taste.
