Screwed up the ocean.
« on: July 18, 2012, 02:01:08 am »
I was doing some texturing, and it seems like some way or another I fucked up the ocean. I found mentions of "allocean" and "fixallocean" in a sarch, but no downloads. Is there any easy way to fix this?

Use Gretchins "All Water.exe" and just fill everything with water :P Search "Water" in the Tools section and it should pop up somewhere

Thanks

The problem withthis is that it fills water but dontgive you the ocean transition.

Schlumpf once write a tool Calld FixAllOcean. It brings in the transition again and kill the water chunks under the land. But it hat a bug and you got some holes on the coast.  It creats the transition depending on the height of the sea ground.

Perhaps someone could fix this tool to get again such nice ocean views.

Going to sound like a complete idiot, but how do I use this? Put it in the file with the ADTs? It doesn't do anything when I hit the exe.

Also, how do I know which ADT to fix?

Edit: just figured out the ADT thing.

I just fucked up the big lake behind UC, and allwater.exe isn't fixing it. How do I figure out the height of it?

On blizz maps I fly with the camera to the water surface, look at z-axis and use that value. If it's slightly off I fix it by trial and error. I think it goes in 0.25 steps but it has been ages that I needed it, I might remember it wrong.
