[TOOL] ADT Down Porter 4.x-6.x To LK&TBC - 010 Editor Based

It'll work with 4.x and 5.x ADT Files. The video covers how to do it with Files from a Warlords of Draenor 6.x Installation.

[Reason For Releasing this for anyone that may care:]


I'm giving out my tools I've made over the years because I'm starting to get into that way of thinking where people become annoying trolls because of misplaced pride in the fact that they know something that a handful of others don't so they like to poke fun and insult others with lesser knowledge.  So to get away from that mindset, I'm putting this out.

It's not much to most people, and to many they wouldn't even consider it a tool since it's just Macro scripts and not something written in an actual programming language, but the fact of the matter is that it still does save a ton of time and automates a particular process versus doing it by hand.

This is the short video(retake while skipping a lot of things that's covered in the full session) that covers how to port maps from a WoD Installation of the game. Full Video Below which has way more detail but also has way more of me running my mouth too lol.

This videos session is a mix between a Livestream and a Vlog, hence = Vlogstream, which also means it's really long too. This isn't a tutorial, it's a demonstration. This is the full video that covers how to port maps from a WoD Installation of the game. The tools are still a work in progress and aren't perfect but I wanted to atleast put them out so people could atleast get familiar with them.

Tools used in the video:
--Minimum of Excel 2007 needed to make use of Worksheets.
--A Full Installation of WoD is needed as well.

Update(April 22, 2015):


Fixed the BLP String dumper on M2 files, and also made a version with an experimental section that'll allow it to read LK M2 files as well to dump blp/particlem2 strings.

0.004vi = fixed blp dumper on m2 files so less chance of getting missing blp and green objects.
0.004vie = Experimental, has 4vi update plus an edit to allow it to work on (proper) LK m2 files.

Update(May 12, 2015):


Updated the WMO converter to fix WoD garrisons and a few MoP WMOs as well, It's not fully tested yet but seems to work fairly well so far. , Thanks to Kranimal for his inputs.

By default I put it on, but for anyone that wants it off, make the 1 a 0:


NOTE:  May Cause a crash due to the a bug in how Windows CMD works since it has a habit of skipping files randomly when your system hits a digital roadbump, mainly from an un-processed m2 file from my tagteam converter if you're using that for doing M2 files.

There's going to be people that's going to give me shit for typing that but it's to be expected.  Hope it works out well enough for you, I'll try to look into it on my next day off, for the rest of this off day, I have some other things I need to get around to looking into.  Not modding related or anything, just things I've been putting to the side to get these things out. XD

Data Dumper Script Updated! It should pull all strings from m2's now where as the initial release, it would skip some of them.

Yes in what the title says, not completely to everything else.
Title says ADT Down porter.  If using the TBC batch file, it will downport to TBC the map files.  Same goes with the WMO if you set the tbc switch on, that's covered in the wmo thread( viewtopic.php?f=59&t=9099 )

For M2 files, it's a hit or miss, You can't use the M2 converter in this package since that's strictly LK.

The download system is fixed now, so you shouldn't get that socket error, if you do, let me know through PM if possible, I don't really check my threads very often but PM's will leave me a text message.

This is the same exact set of stuff I used for the Wandering Isle release I had done however long ago ( viewtopic.php?f=93&t=9091 ) , the M2 things that are missing from the map are either 5.x.x items that failed when ran through my converter or were from previous expansions which I didn't take the time to get and test.

The tool I Released on This Thread, is attached to the thread isn't it?  My Wow.exe isn't needed, only difference is that you'll have to make yourself an MPQ Archive File with an MPQ Tool is all if your own Wow.exe isn't patched to disregard the MPQ check.

I started using Adfly links after quite a lot of people saying the "I wish I could donate to you for your work but can't due to <....lots of reasons>." , people suggested I use AdFly......and here we are, I started using them as a way for people who feel this way to be able to contribute in some small TINY way.

Well, Idk if this would be necro'ing, but my render distance on certain M2s is fucked after editing the converted maps in noggit, basically, I can see a gravestone from 25-30 paces away, but if i step about 5 paces back, a fence vanishes, even if i zoom out, it vanishes. Not sure if this is caused by Noggit, or your converter some how.
- I managed to recreate this problem about 15 times just by changing a house in the garrison to v2 instead of v3.

It's not a necro, this thread is only like 40 days old.

The doodad sets in Garrisons are screwed up in LK, The 005 WMO Converter forces all sets to be combined into 1, so as to make it so all m2 doodads show up, however this doesn't always have a good result. You can disable the force all doodad option in the script, it's around the top of the script, make it a 0 to disable it from happening, that way it won't try to merge all the doodad sets into one when converting it down to a usable LK format.

As explained in this modified link(shows the 9th post as the first post.):

As for doodads going invisible when you get some distance from it...like some of the mage garrisons, same thing happens in WoD actually., like some stuff on tables would vanish yet the table is still there lol.
