Ideas and Suggestions.
« on: January 23, 2015, 06:45:30 am »
Greetings,

Today I was thinking how everyone here got a few exceptional ideas and they are actually not working on any project and I was wondering, why not make a thread where everyone can post their ideas or suggestions and other people who are actually working on a project to use the idea or to inspire from them.

So, if you have an idea or a suggestion just simply tell it and make it simple and easy to understand.
You can never know when you can get inspiration from someone other ideas, and actually going big on it.

I've been rolling the thought in my head of how retroported weapons and 3d armor(helm/shoulders) are down ported from higher revisions, they don't carry their false reflection/specular effect.  I've been thinking of making a conversion process where it would still keep that effect on retroported stuff but.....

the idea keeps skipping on by every-time it comes up because it would seem that no one is bothered by the lack of this.  And it would probably just be a waste of time. lol.

Another Idea is to make some sort of particle creation script for custom OBJ to M2 weapons.  I've made them by hand so many times now it's not difficult, just time consuming to figure out what direction something is going to go in, and how to control it.

Basically like having presets for particles and such.

It isn't a waste of time, when you do it for fun. And i'm pretty sure, that there are enough people on modcraft, who would like to something like that. :)

Finally got around to looking into this, though it seems that the newer clients have some new method on how it handles and shows the specular, by way of not being as intense or bright, so when I did it on WoTLK, the effect is more intense than compared to how it would look like in WoD.
