Miscellaneous / "Weird Connection Error" post in different area.

I think I posted my previous thread in the wrong area, so I will try it here:

Right OK, so my friend is trying to connect to my trinity server via hamachi (I know it's lame but lets roll with it), and we are having trouble, my friend is getting to the stage where he can see the server but gets the error "Login server down".
Now watching my Authserver.exe I can see that whenever he tries to connect the message "Updating realm list...." is displayed.
In his client log file he get's the error:

I should point out that I have changed the the mysql realmlist adress to my hamachi, and also tried turning off my firewall and antivirus, with the same result. My bind Ip is set to "0,0,0,0" with no change.


Any help would b e appreciated to as why he cannot connect, thank you.


P.S I am running a trinity server and me and my friend are both using the client from the tutorial, but have tried with different clients with the same result.

Random / A weird server connection error.

Ok I have had a look at the "Energy Watch", I can make it show energy but it is quite tempormental, but with some work I can get it working. I'm asking this because I want to make some universal powers that all classes can use, with this new resource bar, as Rogues already utilize energy for their base line abilities, so I would like a new resource bar, and have it show as well as the main resource bar. So is it possible or if you, or anyone else have a more efficient way of getting this done that would also be great. Thanks for the help so far, was pretty stumped before hand  :lol:

Wow, OK sounds far simpler than I thought. However how would I go about adding mana, energy etc to a class that doesn't use it, whilst keeping the old bar? I was wondering, would it be possible to have two types of resources for a single class? For instance one bar for rage and another for energy, with powers utilizing either one of those resource? If anyone has any ideas, please let me know as I have hit a wall with this one.

How exactly would I go about resetting or adding a password to the mysql given to me by the tutorial? I have changed a password for my old mysql before the wipe but now I cant seem to change this password. Also will I have to change anything in the trinity server for it to work with a password? Yes this is my personal computer, and yes it is quite strange, could it be a weird authentication error? I have recently done a fresh install of my computer, and like I said everything but this is working fine.





Also if this helps with coming up with a solution I remember having a similar problem on an older version of Mysql when I had no password, and it only accepted my connection when I imputed a password (Though this took ages and I am not entirely sure how I did it) But as I said I completely wiped my computer and installed the essentials from the ground up again, so no old version of mysql is present just the one the tutorial provides.

The problem I'm having is that on both SQL editors I am getting the error 'root"@localhost using password NO) when trying to open the mySql database on the trinity server, I am using the server the tutorial suggested and I can connect to the sql server on workbench, but not on the sql editors.

OK so I have set up the modding environment as instructed and everything works correctly, except I am having problems opening files with Navicat Premium, which I used to use to open and edit the server files that contained the class level statistics, is there another tool I should be using to open MYI and MYD and frm files as I cant connect with Navicat? The file I am trying to open is the Playercreateinfo. I am using trinity core.

Right so what I am wanting to do is replicate the gurubashi arena zone, with some slight alterations.
One: I would like to do it over an entire zone.
Two: I would like there to decrease your reputation status with all members of your faction if you kill someone part of your faction.
Three: I would like guards of your faction to intervene and help you in a similar way the goblin guards do in ratchet, or other pacifist zones, except only if two members of the same faction fight each other and a guard of the same faction is nearby.
Four: I would like people of the same faction to be able to fight each other, but still with the options of trade and group making.

Right, so a lot to ask help with I know. What I understand so far is that to toggle arena combat in a zone requires flags on said zone, which are located in one of the DBC files, which I am guessing is going to be the area.dbc.

But I do need help identifying what flag I need to use and how to exactly implement it, and I have little idea how to do any of the rest of it.

Please understand I am not expecting people to do this for me, mainly point me in the right direction and perhaps assist with some of my questions, and give me a good starting point.
