[QUESTION] Abilities

Okay, I got an Ability System working...  It replaces the Glyph System.  Works in a similar fashion.  You link abilities instead of glyphs.

Two kinds of abilities, Active and Passive.  Active Abilities are bonuses or auras that are applied to the character, Such as a + to skill level or some other full time bonus.  Passive Abilities don't effect the player directly but are used as condtional checks for other things.  Such as Quests, Gameobjects, things like that.

The two I started with that will be out in the next server release are:

Diplomacy:  Active, Gain +10% to rep gain
Religion: Passive, Allows the player to understand and use religious objects.

The question is, what would be good traits that we could give as abilities?  I intend these to exist along side class and race bonuses, and allow a player to customize himself a little more without overpowering himself.

We can also have requirements to "socket" an ability, so if for say we have a Master Healer ability, we can have it require a certain level of first aid.

believe me these,Racials they are abillity's....
Spread darkness...
crippling fear : -20% you're enemy's attacks
Anger lines= when you're below 40% health, you gain 25% damage. maybe 20% what do you guys think.

With modifiers that large to damage, they should be a burst effect lasting about 20 secs with a max proc rate.  Else someone would easily meta game an ability like that.

As you wanted some Ideas of mien for paradigms.

First of all i would depart them into diffrent categories. And in addition to that make more diffrent levers of a paradigm like Mana 1 ( 10 to int) Mana 2 (20 to Int) and so on.

Categories:

Stat incresing Parasdigms:
Strength , Endurance , Int,.... paradigms
Haste, Crit, defense, paradigms

Ability granting paradigms:
Like Fireball spell paradigm

Ability modifinging paradigms:
Like Your fireball splitts up to 2 Fireballs hitting the next 2 enemys in range

Lore paradigms:
Religion (you kn ow your idea on it): enabling the usage of religios items and taking specal Quests

Crafting Paradigms:
Allowing the craft of one or multiple special items like glass weapon craft

Wielding Paradigms:
Allowing the usage of specal items or item slots
enable a specal item slot or allowing to use a spesific weapon or weapon type.

Stat Increasing:  Yup Proven we can do
Ability Granting:  Yup easily doable
Ability Modifyig:  Somethings are possible, but will have to talk to mesox on that one
Lore: Yup doable
Crafting and Wielding:  Included together cause they would require the same method.  However I do caution that we not go overboard with that, as each paradigm would need a skill specialty attached to it.
and there is a client limit somewhere on how many we can do.  20-30 would be fine but not 100
