[SHOWOFF] Ship in a Blender
« on: April 11, 2013, 03:24:55 am »
So the other day I was strolling around Azeroth and found ye olde unicorn ship wreck. Having just been introduced to Blender literally 2 days beforehand, I thought maybe it would be cool to put this baby back together. My character needs a fancy little ship if she plans on going on epic Wind Waker adventures, so I figured it's worth a shot.

The images below is about 11 hours into the work. Starting with almost no experience whatsoever, I had to learn Blender as I went along. I'm getting much better and far more confident now. So far I think it looks quite nice but it's hard to find the flaws in your own work. I was hoping to receive some constructive feedback or perhaps maybe some encouragement to finish. Thanks! :)

Looks nice. Now just comes the tricky part of texturing.

Besides my hate for everything with elf in the name the look is great ;D for an elf of course ^^

Maybe we could use it on Maruum if you want to?

Lol yeah. Kinda tricky but it's mostly just time consuming. I look forward to it.

Despite it's model name being Elven Destroyer, or "Eleven Destoryer" as Blizzard named it, my rework isn't meant to be Elven at all. Just a small ship for RP that has both interior and exterior. Also, I probably won't be releasing this without a reasonable trade. Although I love sharing, I know it's counterproductive to my server's success.

It's the destroyed night elf ship that is found along shores like Darkshore, Westfall, and Wetlands. If you look at the back of the ship, you can tell it's from the night elves because of the Chinese lanterns. But it still looks mostly neutral.

That's marvelous.  How long did it take you to model it?  Excluding the texturing and getting it ingame.
