[QUESTION] [WotLk] Problem with Emote Sounds
« on: October 07, 2016, 04:03:43 am »
I was finished with all (and upload it ..-.-) and then i realized that on some races the emote sounds not play.
I portet wod Char models to Lk and on some Races just a few sounds not work.
"laugh","Chicken" and "cry" for example. But "/silly" "/train" work.
Orc and dwarf work , bloodelf and troll not :<
I look in the m2 file on the events but i see nothing wrong, i look in the struct animation to find some realations to the sound but there was no^^.

Maybe anyone know where i have too look closer to fix it.

Have you even tried to take a look into DBCs? I'd say nope, because I found what is most likely wrong in like 5 seconds :D.

EmotesTextSound.dbc. I'd say its emote ID, race ID, gender, sound entry you need to enter there for every single race/gender combination and for every single race you have retro-ported.

SoundEntries.dbc. Create sound entries for your emote sounds.

And finally, get your hends on original emote sound files and reffer them from SoundEntries.dbc.

i looked in the SoundEntries.dbc to compare the id from m2 file with them and they are correct, so i dont understand why it work with orcs dwars but not with bloodelfe or trolls.

And some emotes work, just the emotes in the struct sevents_events not.

Same thing happens in classic, i guess in all models that are rertoported to any other expansion from WoD and bellow. Its the specific emotes the doesn't work, like i.e. laugh or cry etc. But yet since you dont change any files and use same things really cant understand too why those specific files aren't working. And as filsternis said you dont actually hurt anything during editing in blender, other thought is something might go with the converter/s.

Ya i think too that it could be a converter prob.
I try the whole day that the emotes work but just crashes, invisible model or nothing happend.
And i have cata installed too , there the emotes work with no problems.
It is rly not a dbc problem .

At the Moment the Problem is solved.
Some of the model that i picked just missing some/alot events.
Just wait a bit that they work more at ptr 7.2 ^^
