WDBX Editor Or Am I using wrong programs?
« on: September 20, 2017, 01:03:15 am »
Hi there. I am sorry to bring this up again. If you look thru my post history you will find I want the old character models really bad.

As for many people know Legion is quite impossible to edit :s
I tried first MyWarcraftStudio and other Casc Extractors. In order to edit my following project, which is Old Undead Male model for Legion.
The skeleton is changed in legion and as many people enjoy the new models . I do not.

Now my search has lead me to WDBX Editor and NoggIt. but not sure if any of these programs r right to use? as for now WDBX Editor is not up to date with current Legion version. So I cannot test it.
But can you tell me more about DB2. .adb and so on.

I see in Legion that .bone is a file, I would like to remove them somehow, and replace current UndeadHD with Noggenfogger .anim and other files. But as soon I come to .m2 file my project screws up. I hope u can provide me with a .m2 editor :)

ERROR ChrRaces.adb : You must have the DB2 counterpart open first to be able to read this file. For me this seem like the most logic option to edit character models which I might be so wrong at. :D
I hope some people will help me I tried Youtube aswell in order to gain the skills and knowladge to do it. but I will try with your guidance.

MyWarcraftStudio is outdated since BC.

Noggit is for wotlk only. It is for editing terrain, not models.

ADB files are pretty much irrelevant since they are only a cache.

Bone files are completely unrelated to what you want to do, but are for facial poses.

Anim files can not be swapped, not even within a single model without also touching the m2 file.

How does your project "screw up" as soon as you come to m2 files?

Your project probably shouldn't include editing any file but only swapping _all_ files from one model with the other.

WDBX appears to need you to open the .db2 file extracted from CASC first before opening the .adb. I have never used WDBX or opened an ADB, so no idea.

Well I tried to swap .m2 plus .anim from older gamer, didnt work my character became a nothing. Means no character shown 😝

Second I tried to take animations from noggenfogger didnt do a thing until i took in the .m2 file then my character became noggenfogger w some of my gear only 😫

I think I need to edit the .m2 sort of replace minor things within the .m2 file of one or another

But I do not know how
