Title: [RELEASE] [WotLk] Creature Models for Wotlk
Post by: Finsternis on September 06, 2016, 04:57:42 am
Hey i made some creature model from wotlk+ to wotlk.
Maybe i update this dl link but at the moment my backup drive could be died T^T.
I do alot of texturs and some 3D works like the brew ram/kodo :3 and the Troll fast/slow mount. Its all for the blizzlike idea on wotlk with a nicer look.
There should run all smooth just the big boars have still a "big" problem haha :s
I hope you like my work and  that all works well:3

Patch-F (https://mega.nz/#!oMUAXC6Q!QeOR4NBaoKsJkfpoDsqk4_nER1KfpHqgngtrUOS_CMA) +
Patch-G (https://mega.nz/file/YEMD1YAT#ikYlkFcjoXsDoh3sECx6O2zucN-TDshyUv_nGQr0dPE)

Update Time 2018
It could be that something is gone that you maybe like. For example the Human horse(for me it looks now nicer than the pala mount hmpf^^). Something looks complete new(Raptor/basilisk/dragon/drake and more) but it is still the first version of a model or just some little edits.
I made all also death skeletons new, with the new skelett creature models. I think really cool is that i use the alpha Chimera from here (http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=11252.0) and glue it on the newer armature and made new textures for the outland version :3. Overall there alot rere works and fixes.
But be care it is to much for me to find all bugs^^.

Update 2019
Hey, some of you have see the Tx id thing too. And it make it all not easier.
I made not much new here and focus on improvements.
The totem problem is gone. The slow horse hoof is fixed. Alot of special fx, like glowing eyes, glowing stuff and so on work a bit nicer. The chopper have now the second driver behind. The talbuks are complete reworked again^^. New nightelf mounts (the fast have no mountspecial sound idk how to fix that).Owls, clefthoofes , wolfes are also rereworked. Two new Summon stones , spectralbear and new elementars (uff) . Special thx to Adspartan´s multiconverter (https://model-changing.net/files/file/62-legion-wotlk-multi-converter/), it made here and there something easier for me.

(https://ryog1w.bn.files.1drv.com/y4mwrE65q8l4FuhlEGN9MsaMKaGQts7AvA1Z1CKRSB1UdtfYdq7TmCDZO9x7UkocN8A8qC0jiHti4cP4WfJprbktOQ61rTq7rgFaCRLqxoWzcdY6U3WnWYqQxth_aZZ92pfMQJr7YmAQDhyeSm9Y6howZJqv5NFXx_-DykYlQuVj42HbCGLRb7ulYzfishUjz4kL2oBmhDML2nNa6CBqVSdOQ?)

Problems:
Chopper second person under the chopper
Thrall have no SIT animation omfg xD
wild wyvern no attack animation

Pshhh it is a Steak (https://mega.nz/#!JMMinYJQ!vcnJZPK2Gg6mVo3z3AUN06vXxfLiFYXjaLNdxThhwkY)

Big Thx to Leeviathan (http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=9822.0) for the Druid Tree :D

If you want particels you can use Adspartan's tool for mass conversion of WMOs / M2s from legion to LK with correct particles too its more like one button smash hard

For some reason the patch crash wen I went in Dalaran (With the patch of WoD models for 3.3.5a without them works perfectly fine)
For the time I don't know very well what causes the crash  :| .. I keep searching what causes the issue.
Btw nice job m33n! the port go very well, nothing to envy the Legion expansion.  ;)

Ya hard to say what i could be, but maybe creaturmodeldata and then of course in creaturedisplayinfo too? same numbers in both for my custom models?
If you edit dbc in the character mod i think you have to do not so much like in my^^
And maybe npc models in wod char models.
And thx^^

Great job, just tried, and the problem with scaling can be solve trought the DB, easily.    Dumb question incoming, if I want to fuse this patch with the WOD npc and Character patch that I have, the only DBC`s that are duplicated are patch-enUS-w (located in Wow/data/EnUs) and your PATCH-F (wich is in Wow/data).

The DBC files that are duplicated and causing problems (graphics are scrambled on the characters) are

CreatureDisplayInfo
CreatureModelData

Can I just take my patch-enUS-w and add the information on your patch with both DBC files, and work with both patches?   I am doing in it as we speak, but its taking some time.

Thanks in advance for everything!

I Think you can do another patchfile just with the creaturdisplay and model data dbc.
Then look ind the wod dbc´s(i think there not so much edit entries like in my) copy and maybe edit file to my dbc and let it be the last patchfile.  This is what i would do. Maybe there is another easier way^^

Tthe problem I think is that CreatureDisplayInfo, CreatureModelData are located in patch in Wow/Data/EnUS instead of Wow/data.   Or that has nothing to do ?   Why some patches fo in Wow/data and other go into Wow /Data/ EnUs?

patches in data/$locale overwrite patches in data/. thus, if the base file you edit is in data/$locale, your patch needs to be there too.

Hi there, I transformed both DBC files with Dbcutil so I could work with them in Excel, I fuse them into one.  But when I try to save it back into one it mentions something about comas, etc.   Do i need another program to get them back into DBC format again?  something that I am missing so I can have only one DBC?

Ok thanks for your Help!  Got it working!

Is there a way to get this compatible with the WoD char models? I'm using Warmane's char models, and if I use this mod with it, i get scrambled textures and the char models go back to normal. (faces all corrupt etc)

So you have the WoD char models and the Legion creature models? (Including Druid forms)? If so, I'd like to know which files to download

I just fused both Warmane´s and THis files DBC and seem to work fine. What issues are you finding?

If you want me to, I can upload the fused DBC´s so you can have both of them running.

Here is Warmane´s EnUS patch ( goes into WOW/Data/EnuS ).   I have 3 sets of Legion Mods in the DBC in there. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8xvH ... 0xEMnJoQmM (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8xvHOnjNZYbTE1Hb0xEMnJoQmM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

1- Warmaines: NPC and Character WOD models ( I asume you have it)
2- Finsternis patch with Legion and WOD npc replacement models.  (You can download it right here)
3- Some Models and Creatures from this files ---->  (I took the models from a Hellfire Citadel Patch ir has Most Heroes from WOD and bosses from Hellfirecitadel)
The SQl even has some scripts for the Raid itself, but you need to download WOD maps (tannan jungle and the raid itself, wich are no longer available) I only took the NPCS.  Use the SQL in your World Database and execute it with Heidisql or whatever you use.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8xvH ... GtFZ0tnUmM (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8xvHOnjNZYbbXktaGtFZ0tnUmM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8xvH ... npHb2ZNTTA (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8xvHOnjNZYbY045YnpHb2ZNTTA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Thanks Kronixusa, Finstermins and everyone for making this for us...  i tested a few hours, all of this fused together and foud no major issues.

Thanks! and can´t wait to see m ore of your work.

Thats likely because both of those patches have modified CreatureModelData.dbc. Correct me of Clockwork's one doesn't contain that DBC. You'll need to find a way how to merge those two DBCs into one.

I Use Warmaines WOD models, didnt knokw Anthony made its own.  Does it have NPC bugs?   Warmaines, has a only 2 DBC´s modified.   The sqls i provided have everything ready to use.  just need to put them in your Client and server.

There can't be "no NPC bugs". Those are not bugs. When you replace model which is used also by NPCs, but keep old NPC textures (which are baked and saved in their own files, not made of those used by players), you simply will get problems with faces because new models have different UV maps. Thats no bug. There are only 2 solutions - having both HD models (for player characters) and nonHD models (for NPCs) in client - and that simply may look quite horrible and I'm not sure if anyone would want this - or having NPC textures updated as well (which makes HD patch damn big). But I guess we are kinda OTing here.

The thing is, if you want to use this together with any patch which has the same DBCs in it, you need to merge DBCs together. Converting them to CSV, merging (or moving and merging, whatever is needed) data, updating references to them if it is needed, thats something one can't avoid. Or you can just download this patch, take just models from it and make your own DBCs based on HD ones. Or do it the oposit way - use DBCs from here and update them to work with HD content. Whatever looks better to you guys.

Okay well this doesn't work for me. I know nothing about DBC stuff.

All I know is that if I use Finsternis' Legion Creature patch and Warmane's char model patch I get scrambled textures on everything and the char models go back to normal.

Can someone upload the files I need (That are already completed) so I can use both the WoD char models and the legion creature models.

Those are the complete files.  Note that I am not posting Warmane´s files because I dont have them uploaded, but you can find this here in Modcraft, because that is where I first got it.  (let me uploaded tonight for you so you have exactly what I have and can get it working.

The only file that goes in WOW/data/Enus is the EnUS-W patch where I putted all the merged DBC´s.   The rest goes in WOW/Data, you acre getting scramble graphics because I am not using Clockwork´s patch but Warmaines maybe?  (Warmaines has its own issues, but NPC´s work).

Yeah I have no clue. I have Warmane's WoD models where they're supposed to go (EN-US and in Data) and if I put the legion creature models in the Data folder I get scrambled. So I have no clue what to do at all.

I removed Warmane's patch from my wow folder entirely, so the only thing I have in it now is just the legion creature models and it works flawlessly. But I'd like to have the WoD Char models too :/

When I put Warmane's patch-w in the Data folder, your en-us patch in the us folder and the Patch-H in the data folder, I get no changes. All original models and NPCs.

Hi Finsternis

What skin did you replace for Anduin´s one?  I just wanted to thanks you for this release.   It makes the game more fresh, and great.   THANK YOU.   I also learned some DBC editining, byadapting this to my custom client.   Looking forward to anything else you release in the future!   take care!

@Dyke12 learn a thing or two about DBCs. Use Google. Most of us who are here for longer time didn't have anyone who would hold our hands and show us every single step we need to make. Try to figure out on your own why don't those two patches work together. Describing every single thing would take me more time thatn actually fixing this for you, and the latter is the least I want to do.

Or, ya' know.. Someone could be helpful and upload their already completed files so I can download them? I mean my god that must be SO DIFFICULT to do.

Oh well, I play a Druid on 3.3.5 anyways so I'll stick with the Legion Creature Models until someone nice enough comes along to upload their files which would take a whopping 2 minutes out of their busy lifestyle c:

If we've all just waited for others to do all our work (even while most of it was already done - our fellow here has retro-ported models for you AND did most of DBC work for you ALREADY), we'd never achieve anthing here. Less amount of laziness never hurt anyone.

dyke12,
People are here because they like doing this, not because they are paid to.  These guys are putting out content that speaks to them or to their needs.

If they have the time I’m sure they would help, in fact given that there are 4 pages of comments it looks like people are trying.  Many aspects of this work are very, very time consuming.  Keep in mind people may not want to share all of the info in their DBCs, and creating a patch for just this data take time as well.

Modcraft is a forum for learning, some people are kind enough to post their work but it is not a requirement.  If you like the models and want to use them it looks like you’ll have to do some investigation and it has been my experience many people here will help point you in the right direction, if you willing to look for answers, ask questions, and are willing to follow their advice.

Hey, at least you are not starting from scratch.

I can totally 100% understand this. However, it looks like people who do this kind of stuff are looking for money. I want to again redirect to a post I had made earlier, about Tomb Raider. There is absolutely NO MONEY involved. Someone has completely rewritten the TRLE (Tomb Raider Level Editor) engine all from scratch (NGLE) and has given new features, new scripts etc, all for free. Why can't it be the same here? Why is money involved? It's absolutely horrible and the people involved on ANY WoW modding asking for money should be absolutely ashamed.

Hey !!!!!

It's an awesome work, it's nearly perfect !!!!  :o

Just a question :

I was lookin' past posts to find a solution to merge your patch (maybe not this one but next update) with the warmane WoD models. Because their patch-W is the only one who don't have few green-npc's bugs or crashes but just missing haircuts. I'm not skilled in DBC or MPQ's editing, maybe someone can help me with this stuff ?

I have, in Data/frFR (renamed the usUS) : "patch-frFR-w.mpq",
In Data : patch-w.mpq, and your 2 patches, but, like others, the faces textures scrambles :)

Can someone teach me exactly the procedure ? (I have a MQP/DBC editor). I'm asking because i'm not really sure how i can achieve that stuff ! (And maybe share the work when it's done ?)

Thx ! Have fun !  8-)  8-)

I am trying to do this myself... and alredy got it to work.   its, simply gettin MYDBCeditor, and fuse both DBC´s (model data and creaturedisplayinfo) from both the Warmane´s Dbc files and this one.   I am trying to go an extr notch and trying to fuse those 2 with Kronixusa dbc´s(the one with cata and mop display´s on oiit) But I am having troubles with CSV to DBC.  It says files its too large (even if it is only 2 megabytes.  somwhere between DBC ---> DBCUTIl, opening this with excel and going back to CVS ----> DBC i am making a mistake and can´t make it happen.   Anyone here have a updated, guide for editing DBC´s with excel ?

Keep it up i had it fused in 5 mins but that was for commision
i would recomment to use Notepad++ / WDBX editor since its CVS exporting option is actualy working you can easly do mass edits to whole file in few clics and then simply merge it

It is kind cruel, to know you had it done in 5 minutes... hahah.  But thanks for the tip, I will try wdbx editor.   Could you pass me the one you  made?   I still got like 3 more dbc to edit anyways on my own.

Hey bro' !!

Thanx for the tip' but : (Sorry, maybe dumb question)

- I can extract both model data and creatures display info (from the 3 mpq's) to a different folder for each (2 files by folder) ; And how can fusion them ?? I never did that, and when i open a file in mympqeditor, there is a lot of things :)

Sorry again to ask this, but can you (or someone) be more clearer ?

Thx !!  8-)

Thx !!  8-)

The first you could seperate the dbc´s but just the last one will count.
And to fusion them u need  to open the dbcs and compare whats the different and write it into one.

I fuse them for you.   Try them.   Here are the DBC´s .   The problem I am having troubles, trying to put them together into a patch (For some reason) it comes out as a smaller file.   Maybe its the verison I am using?(latest MPQ Editor v 3.5.1.817).  So do me a favor. Put them into a patch and resend it to me?

Here are Warmanes and Finsternis Patch.   ( the wayt it works for me is I delete all DBC files from Finsternis files and put all the DBC files in patch-enUS-w.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8xvH ... 3lZWENWQ0U (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8xvHOnjNZYbSlFoS3lZWENWQ0U" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

This is Patch-EnUs.W   in WOW/Data/Enus

and use warmanes  Finsternis in WOW/DATA (dont forget to delete DBC files inside of them).

Hope this helps

The patch is small. because I am only giving you the DBC´s...  you have to erase DBC files from Warmanes and Finsternis, and only use my patch for this.

Error in my previous post, sorry, the patch works perfectly. Thx, it's awesome ! (And the procedure is easy)  :D . BUT, just a question :

- The pigs in Teldrassil (starting zone) are over sized, normal ?

That's roxxxxx !!!

I am glad it works.   Keep in mind that the DB´s I sent you are theones from the 2nd update of Finsternis´s work.   I can´t get it to work no matter what, from that point up without getting errors ( when I fuse ti with Warmanes)

For pigs, is not only in teldrassil, it is all the pigs models.   That is a error Finsternis, hasnt been able to fix.   I went to the Database, and just manually fixed all of the pigs scales.   Or you an enjoy the big pigs.

Hey, which files do I need to erase? I'm VERY new to DBC editing. I've managed to extract my DBC files. They're all now in a folder titled "Dbc" I'm not too sure what to do at this point

EDIT: I'll be damned, I got it. DBC file editing is actually extremely easy, it's always scary entering the unknown though. Google is FULL of tutorials.

Hey !  :)

It's easy. First, download this :

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8xvHOnjNZYbSlFoS3lZWENWQ0U (Thx to Piccolo)

Then put this file in your DATAenUS-frFR-enGB...etc....Folder, in the game install directory. Second, download the Legion creature to WotlK patch here ; Then put it in your DATA forlder. Third, download the patch-w.mpq from Warmane formu (easy to find on their forum). And put it in the DATA folder.

When you have all 4 files, download this : (MPQ editor)

http://www.zezula.net/en/mpq/download.html

In the process, never touch the mpq patch posted by Piccolo (the Patch-xx-w.mpq), but open (one after the other) :

patch-w.mpq
patch-F.mpq
patch-G.mpq

And delete the DBC folder. After that, just close the mpq editor, no need to save, it's automatic !!! And YEAAAH ! Enjoy !!! If the big pigs annoying you, you can edit them with a SQL DB client. There's good tuto's on Trinity Core website (DB reference).

Have fun !!  8-)  8-)

It took me days, of try and error...  to manually fuse those DBC´s... no matter what method I tried to use to fuse them ,CVS, Notepad+++, whatever... it corrputed the files.   Glad I was able to help someone finally.   Of course the big hero here is Finsternis.

Ok, ifound the "creature/rindinghorse" folder with the "ridinghorsepvpt2.m2". I think the right textures are :

- Tier2RidingHorseSkinGray.blp
- TourneyRidingHorseSkinGrey.blp
- TourneyRidingHorseSkinWhite.blp

I found them with WoWModelviewer. But i'm new to this ; I tested a tuto with DBC editor (in this case patch-enUS-w.mpq) to add 3 lines, but nothing works. (I found the model ID in the G-patch "modeldata" file ; 1917).

Switch the eyeglow in diplayinfo to the armor  textur and one more entry for the heads. Like this
29976   1917   0   0   1.39999997616   255   TourneyRidingHorseSkinWhite   TourneyWhite1   TourneyWhite2

You just could look in my displayinfo to find it out^^

Remember that my fused files work until Finsternis, 2nd or 3rd update.   From there... i can´t get it to work fused with Warmanes HD models.   So if someone can get them to work, it will be higly apreciated.

It's the same for me....I tried to follow Finsternis advice, try to add all lines in dbc etc...spend 3 hours last night to make tests and that doesn't work. Maybe i need more skills for that ; This Legion model patch and the Warmane are the bests for HD models !!!!

I've made tests with the old "patch-j" ; Just for players and not for npcs. Works more with these F/G patches ; But there's crashes ans scrambled textures on...npcs.

I really don't understand why it's so simple to import WoD/Legion models (mobs, mounts etc...) and like hell about players/npcs...

SOU new patch with not so much new, but a bit, and it fix some texture issue in the world.
I hope you like my hyena textures (and bit smoother model) im not a good painter/drawer idk.. xD im more a photo manipulator muha.
Its now again one patch(F) , of course the compatibily patch-K is new too, if you use both of my mods^^.
So delet the patch G in your folder.
I dont know how much is coming from now here.
I tried something with new custom models, but mostly i get errors by coverting or huge problems in game and of course much work.

So we have to redownload 'Patch-F', deleted 'Patch-G'. I understand this part.

But when you said "of course the compatibily patch-K is new too" does that mean either:

a. We have to delete the Patch-K and get the new one? But I don't see it on the first post.
b. We keep using the Patch-K anyway along with the new Patch-F ?
c. The new patch F already included Patch-K in it?

Also, I want to ask about Mechano-Hog/Mekgineer Chopper mount. When you ride it alone there's no problem with it, however when you have a passenger, this happened:

Without passenger:

Is there any way to revert the bike model back to the old one? Or you already have something planned in order to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

THe compatibily patch-K is just for them who use the Charactermodels too, this patch is on my character mod page. If u dont use it u dont need it.
And ye this chopper is only for 1 guy and have no extra bone vor a passenger.
So it just hang him on the main bone.
I tried to hang on another bone but it dosent work so no fix there. If u want the old one edit the dbc file ;3

Here with another question, this time on creature models!
Has been reported in warmane's forum that the Coldarra's flight master is way too big (I've attached a screen), the rideable drakes for the quest Aces High! are very tiny and another size issue with Valithria Dreamwalker in ICC.
Can it be a server sided issue?
Title: Re: [RELEASE] [WotLk]  Legion Creatur Models for Wotlk
Post by: brotalnia on November 15, 2016, 02:51:55 pm
Unless they are giant/tiny without the creatures patch, then it's not a server-side issue. Wrong size can be easily fixed in CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc. The fifth column is scale.

Post by: j4ckor on November 15, 2016, 03:15:19 pm
Without the creatures patch their size is normal, this issue happens only with the patch on.

Ya i know this problem with some dragons.
Im not sure why they scale so strange.
FOr example this big dragon on your pic.
It is The same dragon like in occu the red one.
They was so tiny that i scale them 10x  up.
Im not sure why it is so small in occu. If anyone have a solution ,would be nice^^.

i just have a small problem, with one of the models.

if you interact with something as druid, in "swim form" the model seems to explode... than the client chrash.

For me, not important, but want you to know.

this only happens, if you interact with someting underwater.

Hehe, I already tried that man. Sometimes it happens on mounts, creatures etc. And relog/move out of view is working on it.
Just those dresses are bugged on some, but not a big deal, i do not really care, just was curious :-D

Serverside some of the boars scale up. I scale them max down you see some of thy tiney ones in front of orgrimmar they just points but if i dont do that, the big one´s would be more big.
The new boars are rly big in the raw files and i cant scale them in blender down without errors.
So there is no way to scale them client side correct.

Is it possible that for some strange reason or another the scale values for the boars were hard-coded into the 3.3.5 wow.exe?  I've found scaling functions in disassembly and maybe there's something I can do.  I'm sure there are people that know the innards of the exe better then me, but I'm willing to give it a shot if somebody's wiling to answer some questions as I have them while I dig into this some more.

*edit* or maybe I just found some window scaling functions..  Been far too long since I looked at a PE disassembly.  Feel free to ignore me if I've made absolutely no sense of if somebody who knows more then me can and feels like offering some better clarity into this theory.

Hi :D

I got this feedback from warmane forum:

"I still have a problem with some of the sounds since I've got these Legion models.
The sounds of Mechano-hog while driving it are missing, it's like silent lol , it Does make a sound when you jump with it though.. but it's annoying like this :|
Another thing is that the Wand of Holiday Cheer also doesn't work properly, when you throw it into a crowd, you can only hear an Orc laugh and that's it.
Am I missing sound files.. things or wot?"

Since he talked about mechano hog i posted it here in the mount/creatures post

And that is not a problem wich happens to me.
All work fine.
Have you all patches ? Patch-a,b character models , patch-f legion models and k make them work together.

Maybe is that a problem where jackor find a solution.

I don't have this problem in warmane.
Try to re-download patch A, B, K, F, G and re-apply them deleting the previous versions in your folder.

Regarding this, @Finsternis, patch G is again on OneDrive, is this a new fix?

Title: Re: [RELEASE] [WotLk]  Legion Creatur Models for Wotlk

1: There's likely to be an incorrect texture set in creaturedisplayinfo.dbc - check that especially. Or model has messed up UV map.
2: It seems like model has a hardcoded path to that texture (which may be incorrect on its own), and that that path leads to non-existing texture or you lack that texture.
3: It seems like your creature has incorrect or no texture set for its armor geoset in creaturedisplayindo.dbc.

Its quite likely you can fix 1st and 3rd issue on your own. The 2nd one would need a little bit of M2 knowledge.

It looks like you use a charater mod too.
If it is not mine, you have to edit the creaturedisplayinfo by urself.
If its mine i have a little patch that make them workt together.(Patch-K (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzyYrJY1xns_M292QWRoVjR0WWM))

Looks absolutely amazing! I really like the mount for paladins, so it's a shame I stuck playing as a warrior. :-(

Would it be possible to make something fancy out of the Celestial Steed?

Hi! I've been using your mods since they came out and I haven't run into a bug/glitch.
But today I some owlkins started glitching out :(
I'm only using the creaturemodels, the character models, and the tilesets mods: http://imgur.com/a/Ym43t
I even tried using a fresh client with downloading all the mod files again, but there's the same glitch...

that happend not just in dala and not just the chopper.
I know it from the Pala mount too and in all other "neutral" areas.
I guess that it is server side issue.

And a new update is there.
I edit some textures again and fixing a bit.
And how you can see on the bottom of the pic we have new mounts yay.
I hope you like the horde fast textur and of course my version of the slow pala mounts.
Same at the Warlock , the slow exist not at blizz.
The unicorn mounts work IN game idk why it not show the armor textur.
Hope you like the textures too^^.
The last special is the Brewfest Kodo it was a bit more work but i think its good^^.
For more variation i add some simliar models like felstalker , fel succubus, kaliri and beholder king!
(btw the stormwind lamps , i replaced them but looks so that that was the wrong dont wonder if u cant see  them)

Patch-F is Updated, IF you use my Character models, update Patch-K too!!!

A few things...Models looking the same is actually not a serverside issue. The client can only load one model name in it's memory. So if two different models in different folders have the name "chopper.m2" it will only load the first one the server calls for.

Also models can be scaled down in creaturemodeldata.dbc ^^

Unfortunately for this model scaling I tried to scale down some models but it didn't work from the DBC file, afaik fisternis had same issues too. Hell we even try doing it by blender and again didn't work. :(

Finsternis you said multiple times that you do not want to do the NPC of the normal playable races because you do not want to convert all the baked textures.

Am I right in saying to get the npcs working all one would have to do is get the prebaked textures from WOD, convert them from BLP to PNG, then downsize them to fit within 1024x1024 and then put them inside a MPQ patch?

If it is as easy as I described could you maybe upload those prebaked textures and I will help with getting them ready for the wrath client.

And The neutral area mount switch,  what u describe is not the problem, it also happend wit h the pala mount and alle use the same model just other texture. I tried it with other names with same result. Anyway i will give them new names but this wil not fix this.

I updated all Patch files from your mods. (Legion creature and playermodels (no NPC)).

The Client dies, if i open the mount menu and click the icon for the Chopper.

i also reinstalled all, and the problem still exists.

btw Everything else works perfectly fine.

I look on kil'jaeden but the old boss model is complete special.
I think the only hard way would be to try to delet just some part out of the model and insert some new parts and rig it new.
But anyway i cant test it after trying this. So at the moment nope.

And ya they looks cool but the old have this charm, same on the goblins i made a hybrid version but there was the face not so sneaky^^ so i delet it.

And ya they looks cool but the old have this charm, same on the goblins i made a hybrid version but there was the face not so sneaky^^ so i delet it.

You could just port the new model into WotLK format and then overwrite the old model using the DBCs, I don't think anyone cares about the addition of legs.

I look and try the water elemental but it sucks , just the fire looks not so bad.
The others, rly for me they looks worse than the old one.  :'(

The fire elemental can replace the fire elemental totem, and the water one could replace the water elemental spell- in my mind haha

Sorry that i refuse your ideas^^"
The fire totem could be if it looks/works good.
But the water dont looks like water, the old one is rly a nice water jelly.
And the new maybe a ugly ice warrior xD

There you can see them.
The air, water and stone have nothing that fits in legion for me.
The fire one is the only one where i can say "maybe".I will check it if i have time^^

I tried to port the SW lion statues from MoP and here they are: http://imgur.com/a/sDdWT :)
I tried to do the same with the bigger statues in the docks, but it just became a textureless, green mess :(
Can you change the big statues to these kind of statues?

PS. Also when I open the WotLK Model Viewer, I can't open custom patches, because an error pops up saying that I have to update my client... Can anyone help how to solve this?

PS2. I can't find the big, gold lion head in the files :/ http://imgur.com/a/fWi7x

The lion and much more in sw wotlk , for example some streetlamps, are part of the wmo.
So the only way would be to import the new model to the wmo and export whole stormwind.
But i think the two guys in front of stormwind could be m2 but im not sure.

I managed to port this to 5.4.8 and everything seems to be working :) there are some missing textures here and there, but I just copied the dbc from the WoD models, so I have to add your textures to the mod to be fully working :) http://imgur.com/a/dCsCy maybe I'll try this with Cataclysm too... The previous version of the charactermodels were working with a WoD cata mod dbc (missing textures ofc), so this should be working too.

Also the voidwalker has a weird particle-effect... how can I up-port that?

Most random mobs like wolves and spiders became smaller :/

Also, it works with Cataclysm too. Without the dbc edits a lot of stuff became blue cubes. If I'll fix everything, I'll post the upports to this thread :)

This would be so dope, i think that Headless Horseman's Mount deserves a new model, and by the way the work you do is awesome, it's appreciated throughout the 3.3.5a patch community, everyone I've shown your patches to is in love with them.

Patch-G and -K update , the northrend bear was a bit shitty. I hoped all the time that the vicious bear work but still not.
So i use the normal bear and rigg it on the old armature, i think it is okee.
The naga´s as race work now like the old one. Maybe i made a mistake at the baked textures and the face colors is wrong, if you find one naga with the wrong face send a screen. And i rigg the boars too ;P  and other bugfixes /edits

usually just unzip it into the data folder and all should work.
But some custom clients need to rename the patches and put it into the location folder enGb or deDE and so on.
For example patch-enGB-F.MPQ,patch-enGB-F.MPQ

Edit:
In Ghoul2 is just armor reflect and nothing else. That is in alot floders just blp and no models but that is correct if in ghoul all models inside.
The data size is around 450mb than there is no problem.

xD maybe the mega limit was reached and you get just a bit, try redownload. It resett all 5h.

The file is 447MB large, I've downloaded it 3 times already. I'll try again in 5 hours.

This the actual size of the Infernal new model, which fits more to an infernal, tho unfortunately cant be smaller since the model edit doesn't work for the specific and some other models, i.e the Giant Boar.

I want to report two issues found.
First one is about the sprint animation (druid cat form): http://imgur.com/a/edxsB (http://imgur.com/a/edxsB)
The "speed" trail appears on the head.

Second one is about some texture error or conflict. Dunno.

The white loading problems happends if you move to desktop and back mostly.Real full screen, Vsync and trible buffer make it worse.
If i work on such a model i would fix it(like the moarg i done last patch) but at moment im to lazy, wotlk kill textures that bigger than 256x128 and uneven i realized it to late^^.
This textures are 1024x512 .
I think the mount with the bad texture is a unused model in blizz like wotlk(http://www.warcraftmounts.com/mounts/leopard.php (http://www.warcraftmounts.com/mounts/leopard.php)) so i made no texture for it but i dont see the name of it so im not sure .
And i will look on the citty

If you dont have another mod there that made problems,it could be the issue that have some clients with another language.
You have to put it in your location folder and rename them. i think your is ruRU?
patch-ruRU-A.MPQ and so on, was correct i think.Anywhere someone write it in one of my threads

Found a couple scaling issues.  The infernals spawned by the Pitt commander inside the dark portal waaay too big.  Also, at the forgotton coast, Wave Strider, Deep Strider, and Shore Strider are much bigger giants then they should be.  I edited CreatureDisplayInfo scale values to fix.  The values I settled on seem to get the models scaled back to the size they were before adding the mod.

Infernal Siegebreaker - ID 7950    - Scale changed to .9
Wave Strider - ID 10039 - Scale changed to .75
Deep Strider - ID 12812 - Scale changed to .8
Shore Strider - ID 4945 - Scale changed to .8

If I spot more scaling issues that I can fix I'll be happy to post them.

PS:  How'd you fix the boar scaling issue?  Did you eventually just find a way to scale the original model without it messing up?

PPS:  I only checked this against the dbc in patch-k.  I don't know if it also exists in patch-f

Hey Fin, might happen to notice any issues with the slug movement animation ?
I used the legion model my mod and seems that animation isn't completed as an action. It start's normally and then just slides instead of continue moving normal. I've test your version too but same I got the same result.

Hey, i did what you said and it worked, everything looks normal now, but i noticed something else. Sometimes the dragons die, and they have the correct animation, but some other times they die while having their "flying" animation, which is weird af. It happened while i was doing Obisidian Sanctum, i thought we didn't have to kill Sartharion yet, because one of the purple dragons was still moving, but actually he was dead. Also I was at a raid in Ruby Sanctum, and the first boss (which is a dragon) didn't make his flying animation, instead it kinda froze in some weird position —which you can see here: https://prnt.sc/gvooe1 — and went straight up, then the whole fight he was frozen in that position, even when he died.

hmh cant check this but that he is forzen is strange. If he just not fly i would say ya okay^^ but frozen is new. I hold it in mind and ask some raider.

And also the World  tilesets is exactly the same but an older version without nightelves or tauren i think, because it is fucked up too .
And with the char models, warmane used my work first(this was why i fucked up  the mpq and fix, improove the models again) and calls their work, now this pl guys download warmane models and use it and call it their work.
It is a bit sad but, ye hard to write " Thx to Finsternis work" ;)

Ya i see that, It hurt a bit that they insist that they done it or that it comes from original Legion but i cant do anything against ^^.

All who followed my Projects know that i made alot of textures and custom models like the Zul Gurub Tiger or Fast/Brew kodos(complete re texture og/Thunderbluff/sw/shat and now darnassus) and all who played / looked in the legion data, know that this is not just copy paste, its over 2 years work

Edit: Btw anyone here or on model-changing.net said it (forget who), "it is a great honor that other copy your work, that shows how well you did it" ;)

Hey.

Indeed we did use your resources. We are terribly sorry for the misguidance, we've deleted all the comments stating we're the original authors and an explaination has been added to dodgykebaab's YouTube video, Reddit.
You are going to be credited, obviously, near the Legion Remaster link, as we're using lots of your resources.

This is my fault, not DrPhil. DrPhil respects your work and would never credit himself for someone else's work. He was using your old version which had some partially white objects, such as a tiger with white armor, or a human with all-white torso. He fixed that by converting it from Legion using this tutorial:

The remaster is going to be updated though, he is redrawing all textures from original WoW for example. We're going to phase out your textures bit by bit, but still it's all thanks to you and we'll not forget about it.

Again, we're terribly sorry for this misguidance and thank your for your awesome work. Appropriate credit will be given.

Thank you that you message me here and clarify this.
I must also clarify that I saw in the video, which concerns models and textures (for example stormwind,zg tiger,elekk,saber´s..)  just my stuff. ^^"
And jup this white objects was an converter bug on textures which  is already fixed .

Anyway if you credit me, im happy now and can sleep nicer today hehe

It is not possible how do you want this i think.
I could just replace older animation with others, but adding new, just working good if the server also know about that.
Btw the chars have this animation(not all from legion some older) but ingame you will never see them.
It would be alot work to edit all dbc´s , spell effeckts and more.
If i dont have to, i will not touch again the char models its rly no fun to make them.

As a proof of concept I backported the new HD cat critters: https://drive.google.com/open?id=14rfp1O2Zj5uMiXa-J40DhZJahO7j-GEs

This patch is compatible with all of Finsternis´ patches.

The files for the alpha are on Blizzards CDN.

You can trick your battle.net launcher into downloading them by fooling it into thinking you already started the download.

The files for the alpha are on Blizzards CDN.

You can trick your battle.net launcher into downloading them by fooling it into thinking you already started the download.
I see, thanks for the info. Looks like the same way we did for Legion when it came Beta. I'll wait a bit longer to see. Thanks again.

Hey Finsternis,

Thanks for this mod, it works incredibly well.

I do have some minor issues, the ground travel form for druids have no shadow, not sure if your aware of this?

Also you seemed to have missed or they aren't working, models for spiders. For example the spiders in Teldrassil, Elwynn and Loch Modan are all original stock models.

And lastly, i was wondering if it would be possible for you to port over this collection of monster models over to the TBC client?

Thanks for your hard work and effort.

Hum ya that with the druid shadow is something new for me but i can see it too.
And there no new spiders in the area.

And sorry no i will do nothing for classic or Tbc some one port some of my work to Tbc but i dont hear anything new about it.

Hi Finternis.

Are you planning on updating BOA new model creatures on this year?  (hyenas, spiders, new critters, etc).   Totally ok, if you dont do it, you have done enough.   But know that you have change emulation for a lot of people :)

how do I make this mod work if I have characters and npc models already? If I put it in data folder, the faces of npcs are messy. (the new models work though)
Thanks

Hi there Finternis, I wanted to collaborate with something.  Here its the updated CHicken and Pig models from BFA.   I know its not much, but you can add it to your next updated patch.   Question,... how do you add sounds in creaturemodelinfo.dbc (column 3 and 13), where the id its 0?   For example,
this is the ROW for the chicken in Creaturemodelinfo.dbc

304   111   0   0   1   255   ChickenSkin            0   0   0   0   0   0

In column 3 and 13m there no info.

How do I replace the new model so it can have chicken sounds?  Thanks!

Hey thx but i dont need this.
To your question i dont edit any sounds in my patch (just the emote stuff on character). Creaturedisplayinfo need just an entry if this model have some special sounds mostly npcs who talk(not sure how this works).
The standard sound ids should be in creaturemodeldata
If the id is 0 in creaturedisplayinfo the standart sound load.
So look in modeldata on the normal chicken for the correct id.

Sow a new update is there a bit new stuff (rly there is so much cool new stuff , but i cant use it because it fits not to wotlk).
Patch-F,G and k is new. Btw one bug is inside that i cant fix.It will not crash , but you will hear it^^... Another one was rly evil that i delet the whole model :/.
At last i have the same problem like Uthil and his project for classic (http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=10847.0), that the new format´s making more and more trouble and i have not the skill to make for all workarounds. I had alot fun, but big updates ending here maybe

Or can I use his mod with yours?

No i dont think that i will add the new bears in any way. But with some edits you can add it by yourself.
Last time i looked in leevis files he also edited some spells and other dbc edits. Im sure that  will not work. Maybe it work if you just delete all dbc´s (so you want just the bear so delete the other stuff too) in his patch and put it after patch-g so maybe call Patch-H or -I.

Ofc, in Patch-f are the warlock pets, open it with mpq editor and delete all non pet folders.
Also delete dbc´s and patch-g complete. If u using charactermodels, delete patch-k too.
This working not with all models but with warlock pets it is no problem.

Hi, Finsternis.
First of all, thank you for all of this new astonishing models! WotLK client looks amazingly fresh now.
Could I ask you for a small help? I tried to return classic models of Mekgineer's Chopper and Mechano-Hog, I just like them very much. I deleted all assets and table rows connected to the new models, and I ended up with an empty chopper model (like my character was driving an invisible motorbike). Could you please give me a tip about how to do this right? I would really appreciate it.

P.S. Also if you could help me with my other issue posted here http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=13861.msg65486#msg65486 (http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=13861.msg65486#msg65486), I would be so thankful =)

Heyo, i made two new entries in the model.dbc and let the old one stay.
So if u want the old back just go into the display.dbc find the two rows for ally and horde, edit the model id(to 2862) and the texture names. If u using character models too you have need just to edit the dbc in patch-k. If not then just in patch-g.

Recently I thought to myself: "How do I make an owl angry? " First, you add a sleep remedy to their nut mixture. Then you sneak into their nest at night. Pucks her in an ultra awkward costume. And seals it with powerful magic.

I would never do anything like that, of course. Or ...:P.
.
.
.
Anyway i wish a Merry Christmas

I hope you like it. I deleted my first version complete and start again by 0 but now im rly happy with it.
I make no new post because you need my creature mod for it and i will take it off after new year :).

lor'themar lost an eye, trying to expel the scourge of the lands of Quel'thalas, this before burn crusader expansion, but the blizzard was very lazy with his models at the time, so you see the lor'themar model with the two normal eyes in wotlk, but by lore he at the time had already lost the eye   ;)

How easy would it be to return the ground mounts to 'normal' ?

My only complaint is that the night elf racial mounts don't seem to 'fit' right and I'm not a fan of using the chopper replacements either.

I love everything else so far!

I'm sure someone has suggested this but just in case no one did...
Have you ever thought of making the tier 6 sets look like the tier 20 ones. Here is an example:
Tier 6 - https://www.wowhead.com/transmog-set=537/gronnstalkers-armor
Tier 20 - https://www.wowhead.com/transmog-set=2437/wildstalker-armor-mythic-lookalike

I'm suggesting this because on some of the more popular severs there is transmog option and it would be cool to reinvent these old sets.

I have never heard about this patch even though I have been following this scene very closely. Is there anything else I am missing? I know about your patches, the other character patches with shoes, my goblin patch, the cata trees, and the water patch.

BTW something I have wanted for a long time in Wotlk was new skyboxes wouldn't they be the perfect fit for your Creature Models patch as they basically also are just .m2 files? For example the Boralus skybox could be a great replacement for the standard one used in Stormwind.

Post by: TheMetalCarrots on April 02, 2019, 04:59:26 pm
Thing is with Skyboxes, whilst the newer ones are just M2s, it's not as simple as renaming a few files for the basic ones - you'd have to go into the DBCs and change each and every single zone that has the basic skybox (which is practically every single zone and subzone in Classic WoW, aside from Stratholme) and manually add a fitting skybox each time, using just IDs. This is because the basic Skybox isn't actually an M2, it's just procedurally generated colours that are supposed to look like clouds and the sky, so you can't just swap one M2 with another and get the desired effect. Whilst it would be a really good idea and would definitely spruce up the old world immensely, I understand why no one has yet to commit to it - it'd arguably take longer than the entirety of Finsternis' project so far.

Hey! Quick question! I've been having problems finding the chinese undead npc models (abominations, ghouls, zombies...), not the playable forsaken ones. Would you happen to know how to get them, or perhaps maybe even considered making an optional patch with them?

Would recommend looking in Light.dbc, LightIntBand.dbc, and LightSkybox.dbc. LightSkybox would contain the skybox IDs which would be referenced in LightParams, whilst LightIntBand contains the sky/cloud and lighting color of zones, whilst Light controls zone weather and skybox positions. The DBC wiki will explain them all in greater detail than I.

Did you use other mods or my character mod?
If you use my charactermod you can just load patch-k and all work.
If you use other mods that edit the creaturedisplay.dbc and/or creaturemodel.dbc
you have to find a own solution.

Hello =)
help me please. I am trying to change the model of motorcycles on the standard.
For me, all this is new, so I guess what to do and how, the names of the textures I found elsewhere.
If the files are in the folder Data/ruRU, then the 2nd seat is green, if the files are placed in the date folder, then the motorcycle is in order, but most of the other mounts have either white or green textures.

With warmen stuff idk .
If u want new char models with npc´s download Leevi´s (http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=13815.0) models and delete the x and w stuff. And put all in data folder.

I plan and work on nothing at moment. So no new drake or horse.^^

He isn't very active last time. Btw SL models (for instance, Sylvanas' armor) won't fit very well to < wotlk world. And if u want u can do it yourself as it's not difficult.

Hello Finsternis, will add the new models from the shadowlands expansion or patch 8.3?

Example Shadowlands :https://www.wowhead.com/news=311901/shadowlands-alpha-new-models-including-kaelthas-bolvar-ysera-and-sylvanas (models like Hakkar, Kel'thuzad, Ram, etc.

Example 8.3 :https://www.mmo-champion.com/content/8770-Patch-8-3-0-PTR-Build-32044-New-Creature-Models (Aqir prophet, Obsidian Destroyer, etc.)

There is also a new Anubisath model, with a more Old God Vibe.

Hello Finsternis,
I would like to report some textures that appear now appear white with your recent updates (I had a previous version of yours that worked without issues).
Dreadsteed, Swift Frostsaber, Swift Mistsaber, Swift Stormsaber, Black War Tiger : https://imgur.com/a/ADm2hgV
 (https://imgur.com/a/ADm2hgV)

Is this easily fixable (since it worked before)? I have a backup of a "working version", should you need it.
I have never dabbled with editing such things, so I have no idea where to even look. Thanks for your support

EDIT: so I pinpointed the problem. Somehow, patch-K causes this problem.

Hey there. Happy new year!
I did update everything yes. At the time of that post I was updating every mod I'm using to its latest version I could find (I did troubleshoot it with only your mod be4 writing the post).
I don't know why patch-K causes this behavior for me... Had to try leeviathans character models and with it, these creature models work amazing.
