Entire ADT got fucked up

Hello.

I've spent 3 hours on one signe adt tonight, then I saved it, compurer froze, i reloaded the adt and it was gone. I ran offset-fix and it came back as a flat plain white square. (yes, i make backups. Got 500mb of backups on this single 6 adt project, but how the fuck am I supposed to backup something that messes up before I even get to save it?)

I hope this was a one-time occurance, and I am very glad that this is a free software. Thank god I don't have to pay for this shit.

Bugs pisses me off, but I understand that they are there. You've done a great job so far, but people must be allowed to get angry sometimes. This was a bug report, with rage.

I apologize if my post offends anyone, it is not my intention. I will continue using the software as there is no other (better) alternatives. Suggestions to everyone who are new to Noggit; Backup every single change you do. Save irregularly often. Prepare yourself for some frustrating moments, because you will eventually loose something you've spent a lot of time on.

Also: Your computer "froze". That would mean that the whole machine "froze". I don't see how it should save then, when in a frozen state. Of course the ADT will not be saved when your whole machine crashes.

I hope this flame was a one-time occurrence, because you won't stay here longer else. You are using an outdated version, btw. During the time from version 104 and the current one, being 522, we might have invested some time. Time that nobody paid for. Are you able to imagine how much time that costs? How much it would cost to pay people to work for that?

That's why you get "a piece of shit". Because nobody pays for or cares. You really expect to get awesome software while you don't care about how it is developed and the only idea you get is flaming, instead of thanking people to spend -- if we take one hour per commit, and it is way longer, sometimes days -- 522 hours, which, at a cost of laughable [compared to average salary in texas for example] 25$ per hour, would equal 13050$. Guess what we got instead. Right, 0$. I'm glad you have not paid for this piece of shit!

My computer "froze" because noggit was loading files on a disk that was hibernating. My whole machine did not crash. When the file was loaded and noggit came to, there was nothing there. I ran offset fix and a white square appeared. That's poorly written software right there.

I don't understand why you get upset. I'm an open source developer myself, I don't get paid at all, it's a hobby. I've logged 12000 hours of coding where of which includes but are not limited to  c++, c# and LUA. 85% of those hours were spent creating scripts and softwares that I have published on forums based soley on requests. If I write shitty code, I expect complaints. If someone used my software and it ruined something that they had already created, I'd understand their rage. If I wrote something filled with huge bugs, I'd expect complaints, not gratitude. And most important of all; if someone requested a tool written that is outside my field of expertice, I wouldn't attempt to write something half decent.

Just because something is free, doesn't mean that it should be shit.

I don't see how Noggit should detect if your disk is hibernating, and I don't know why it should  be loading anything when saving. When saving, all Noggit does is writing to disk. There is also no loading afterwards. therefore, you must have done more than just saving. As I have no idea what you did there, I can't tell you what the problem is. There is nobody having experienced such a bug before. Also, using "offset fix" without knowing a fuck what the problem is, might not be the best "solution", as offset fix actually is poorly written software by the same guy: Cryect. The tool did not even fit your problem.

Because I don't see why I should get rage for something most likely being a user error -- really, you're a developer, therefore an advanced user, and not saving once in three hours. Honestly? Also, I don't see how someone comes and says it is bad code while not knowing the code at all and not trying to improve stuff (raging that something crashed does not help, you should know that) or using the newer versions we provide. In the end, you are using unstable, old software and complaining.

What is your bug? The computer shortly freezing while the disk is booting up again? Reloading instead of saving? Running the wrong tool for no reason instead of asking for someone to look at the file, while stuff might still be there?

Also, there is a post saying that the version is outdated as hell and people should go beta. We do not maintain that blog actively, mostly because Steff decided to put stuff private, so people like you don't start flaming for unstable versions.

I've been a hobby developer for 7-ish years, and I do have a lot of free time on my hands. I posted the thread in the heat of the moment, a lot of things went wrong and this became the tip of the iceberg. Let's not continue our war, it's pointless. I widthraw everything I have said up until this post.

Exactly because the many people cry in the paster the software killed stuff they made. Its a closed beta group. So everyone knows it if he use the tool.

C++, one of many languages I've been working with. At the moment I'm working on client interface modifications for WoW and an application for Back|Track. Perhaps when Ithe intensity of these dabber of a bit, I might be interested in this project.

Impressive. I like the creature feature there. But, the addon basically just handles GM commands through a simplified GUI? With some target info tables and so forth?
